I wish you could see the cheek-to-cheek grin I’m sporting right now. The source of my immense elation appropriately comes from design blogger extraordinaire Joy D. Cho, of the blog Oh Joy!, who has launched a delicious new wallpaper line to accompany her stationary and accessories. Joy’s three patterns, including “Petal Pusher” pictured below, are available through Hygge & West, bi-coastal purveyors of simple, chic style.
Hygge & West wants to give you your choice of a roll from Joy’s new wallpaper line to outfit your home. (Be sure to also check out “Lovely Leaves” and “A Stone’s Throw Away”.) All you need to do is answer this week’s question before 12/11c Monday, January 17th to be entered.
This week’s question: What’s your favorite way to use wallpaper or what room do you like to use wallpaper in best?

I have recently discovered a love for wallpaper. We use it to decorate our bedroom. Over a period of time, we collected some of our favorite prints and created a beautiful collage! It's stunning and we are the envy of all our friends!
I love wallpaper in any room… maybe not all of them at once, though. I have had trouble deciding on / committing to what I want to do in my great room, so lately I have just been using it to fancy up dressers, bookshelves, etc.
Wallpaper has been given a bad rap among my family and friends. Too permanent, too time consuming, to this or that. But really, what room wouldn't look better with some stylin wallpaper? I've been eyeing Joy's "A Stone's Throw Away" in gold and cream for sometime now. My husband and I just purchased our first home, an 1890s folk victorian that has a huge entrance hallway that splits the house. I'd love to put in some white paneling with trim with wallpaper on the upper portion. Buuuuut, then I have my backroom which is an office/laundry/craft room that is painted a medium grey, has thick white trim, and covered with 5 bamboo shades. That room has the smoothest ceiling and I can definitely see that same wallpaper on the ceiling. Love it!
I love it when people wallpaper the wall the bed sits against. I like the dramatic focal point it makes.
I'm loving the petal pushers right now. I'm already picturing my room with it!
I love the look of lining the back of a bookcase with fun and beautiful wallpaper, such as the gorgeous papers featured. These patterns would also look very nice in a small entry space or foyer. What a beautiful treat when you open the door!
I make journal covers and use wallpaper to cover simple boxes and make them special.
bedroom for sure! I have yet to add wallpaper to my house, but love these designs!
I would like to use wallpaper in my bedroom as it has a cathedral ceiling and would add drama and elegance in way that just paint cannot achieve.
I like to use wallpaper to cover the back of shelving units!! It makes the things I display pop!!
I have never used wallpaper but I think it looks great in every room if used right.
don't think I've ever wallpapered outside of it being a bathroom…
I like to use wallpaper in the back of a bookshelf so that there is something fun poking out from behind whatever I have on the shelf. I also like to frame it and hang it on the walls!
I like using wall paper on the back of book shelves and as wrapping paper.
My favorite way to use wallpaper is to add some spice, color, or personality to a room that just paint can't do. I like to use it in bedrooms on one wall or on half a wall.
I like to use wallpaper to back my bookcases.. give them punch, draws the eye in.
I love to use wall paper in a bedroom. It's great if you have a sitting room where you can use it as an accent off your bedroom. I also used an idea I saw on Myles of Styles where Kim took an artist canvass..covered it with wallpaper and used it as a piece of art! I love the BOLD paper she displays…
L O V E that design. I enjoy papering small powder rooms with a stunning wallpaper.
I would love to put this wallpaper in my bed room. It is sooooo in need of a pickup!
One question for all those who love wall paper in the bathroom , What does the moisture from the shower and/or steam do for the wall paper????
Water closet! Such a small space needs something of interest! Especially since it's frequently visited…
Actually, my favorite way to use wallpaper is in my scrapbooks. I love all the different things you can do with it and there are so many great designs for using in scrapbook pages. I use it in all sorts of craft projects.
I use wallpaper as an accent wall. In my master the one behind my bed, and will be doing one in the new babys room once we find out the sex of the baby. I also like to frame pieces from the accent wall and put them on other walls to bring some of that pattern around the room.
This wall paper is just what I have been looking for!! As soon as you walk into my house there is a huge wall that runs the length of the house that has just been begging for me to turn it into an accent wall. I would use the petal pusher wallpaper to create a wall that will pull the whole house together, and be a GREAT conversation starter when people come in and fall in love with the design.
I would love to use a rich textured gray in my bathrooms to give it an expensive feel.
Gorgeous!! I would love to see Petal Pusher in Gray & Taupe in my bedroom! I think using wallpaper on the inside of shelves and cabinets with beautiful windowed doors is stunning, and I've also seen wallpaper used fantastically to add detail to side table tops and drawers! There are many ways to showcase wallpaper other than on your walls.
If I had my own home, I would put wallpaper EVERYWHERE!!!! for the time being, i just get to frame it in clusters or use it in art projects.
I would love to use wallpaper on the wall behind my bed. It would make for something interesting in the room which looks rather blah right now!
I made my own custom blinds out of wallpaper.I measued the width and length and began designing using ribbon as a custom border to hold the wallpaper on a spring rod. It's fast and unique and a definite "bang for your buck".
I like wallpaper & would love to redo our master with something stylish.
I’m dying to do a funky print on the ceiling of my bathroom and maybe in my laundry room for fun! I also love the idea of cutting animal sillouettes or shapes out of wallpaper for wall art in a kids room! Lastly, I have an unfinished peice of furniture that is begging for a fun pattern.
I've always loved wallpaper in bathrooms, foyers, dining rooms and bedrooms, but there is another wall that is often overlooked. The ceiling! My dad was a paperhanger and did ceilings back in the day before that went out of favor. Papering ceilings with beautiful wood trim makes a wonderful statement in a room.
I love wallpaper in bathrooms, and for an accent wall in dining rooms. I'd love to wallpaper my powder room. It is so small but I'd love to give it a new look with some new color. It can be seen from many rooms so it would be wonderful to have something fresh and colorful to enjoy in there. I
I would love to use wallpaper on one wall in bedroom or my dining room to give the room a focal point. Both need a new transition. This wallpaper is beautiful!!!
I love Oh Joy!'s wallpaper! I've been thinking it would be a great fit to liven up our entrance way. My favorite way to use wallpaper is on an accent wall. It adds texture to a room that paint can't provide.
I like to cut wallpaper into strips at least 6 inches wide and use them to make an already painted wall look striped. I've also done it with tissue paper and it looks awesome. I don't understand the fear of wallpaper. I started using it to decorate my bedroom when I was 14 (48 now) and I love it! It has a million uses!!
would love to use wallpaper like this for an awesome change to our bedroom! IMPACT! I agree that a bedroom or bath are great places to use wallpaper- also- one wall of the kitchen!
I have wallpaper in the bathroom in this house dated from 1947 and I would like an update to washroom and hallway!
I like it any room as long as it is tasteful-ha haa. I think it can be really cool to have a bold, unique pattern in a dining room or bathroom especially. I love the Hygge and West Lovely leaves, it would look pretty darn cool in my bathroom!
I would love to use unique wallpaper like this in an unusual way. For example, covering the front surface of dresser drawers, or the surface of a nightstand or table. I think there are endless possibilities when it comes to wallpaper, and I'd love the chance to experiment with it!
I love the look of the new wallpaper I have seen this past year–big, bold, textured pieces with a vintage feel. I would use a bold damask print almost anywhere in my home! My personal new favorite is when a wall in a bedroom or living space is done in a fantastic print wallpaper and the remaining walls are painted in a coordinating color. And of course, you cannot forget the accent pieces and framed decor that play into the wallpaper print, simply amazing!
I love wallpaper and use it in small places that give big impact, like behind a wall unit. I also use it in small spaces like a bathroom.
I like wallpaper to hide imperfections on my lame drywall. My house is so old that it needs some cosmetic help…like it's owner. Not to mention the fact that 8 lifeguards once rented this house for the summer. I think spackle is the only thing keeping my house standing. Help!
I like to use wallpaper behind my bed. I think it creates interest and makes my bedroom pop.
I think I would use wallpaper in my dining area, or my craft/sewing room. I think it brings a nice elegant touch to any dining room, but I also think it might bring me inspiration in my craft room. Thanks for the opportunity!
I also have never used wallpaper….I have scraped plenty of bad wallpaper off the walls=) I am really loving and wanting to try wallpaper in the kit cabinents and inside bookcases. I going to also put it on the inside of my entertainment center….I hope its as easy to put up as everyone says.
I'd l ove to put wallpaper in my guest bathroom! I'd love, love, love a floral print!
Being in a rental does not give me the flexibility of using wallpaper in the traditional manner. I have cut out images to decorate photo albums, journals, and creating pictures suitable for framing. I have also, on occasion, decorated container boxes and applied images in the kitchen above the sink and on the bathroom walls.
I would use it in my bedroom…it needs redoing…..
I love wallpaper for an accent wall.
I have this insane cupola above my dining room that has been eyesore since we moved in. It was previously wall papered and then painted white…NOT my style. I've been dying for the last three years we've lived here to re-wallpaper it, but haven't found any paper that says what I want it to. This wall paper totally speaks my language! I think it would ROCK in my cupola!!
