This week’s question: Are you a DIY, handmade cupid or are your Valentine’s Days always store-bought perfection?
Special thanks to Brittany Hodgins Photography for capturing these images.

As much as I would like to sound like the super crafty, time blessed friends listed above I actually buy store bought perfection for my husband on valentines day and write sweet nothings in a funny card that sings music…all in all I could use the rose petal help…that is why I love you HGTV you don't judge me,nay, you inspire me!
I am and always will be a DIY handmade cupid it does not mater what holiday I like to do things my self its just a little bit more personal I think?
I am always DIY when it comes to a card and dinner for my sweetie. We would rather cook a fancy meal at home then fight the crowded restaurants. I also think homemade Valentine's cards are just so cute and traditional.

DIY!!! Nothing says it better. I still make valentines day cards for my friends and family and mail them out.
Lol! I had to google DIY because I had NO IDEA WHAT THE HECK IT WAS!
I'm naturally a very strong giver to people that I love, whether that be time, money, loyalty, or affection. But Valentines Day is my day to enjoy and lavish in the life commonly knowns as "Trophy Wife". Thus, I expect to be pampered, put on a pedestal and practically worshiped the entire day. So, I'll answer for my significant other: both. A lot of — Do It Yourself Handmade Cupid Love (if you know what I mean) AND a lot of store bought perfection. That's what Valentines Day is all about.
I always make my own. I don't get around to sending out x-mas cards, so I make up for it with homemade valentine's. My husband also makes me a valentine. My favorite gift from him is a 4 foot tall heart valentine's day card he cut out of a giant cardboard box. I have kept it for ten years. Last year , he carved vegetables into hearts and made a special "salad" for me.
DIY celebrations are special and unique. I like to cook my husband's favorite meal and think of a creative way to be together . . . . hmmm, I think rose petals would do the trick very nicely!
I like to make my own Valentine's Day cards each year. It's a fun challenge to look around and see what craft supplies I have on hand and use them for the cards. I also like to use pretty pictures from magazines and junk mail, or natural materials like dried flowers, sometimes even bits of fabric or lace or pretty buttons.
I always like the personal touch so I try to DIY as much as possible.
Nothing says it better than when you DIY. It's nice to go out and spend a fortune. But as long as I'm spending time with my hunny, I'm happy!
Are you a DIY, handmade cupid or are your Valentine’s Days always store-bought perfection?
Yes. I am.
Definitely I'm more of a DIY hands on type of a person. If you're creative enough you can actually make your own flowers hopefully I won't have to do it this year. If I were picked I would give these flowers to my mom who takes in problematic foster kids. It would be a great surprise <3 it.
I've always been a DIY. I've even passed along the tradition to my five year old daughter who finds it fun to make her valentine cards on her own for her friends and add her own personal touch. Also, as a first grade teacher I always have my students create their own valentine for their parents or grandparents.
DIY and store bought. The kids love to get flowers or balloons at school to make them feel special. It also is fun to make valentines, a special dinner and have a nice day as a family!
I love making cupcakes and cookies for Valentines day. DIY for sure. It's a small way to let others know you're thinking about them, but it means a lot more when it's hand made
I use a combo of store bought elements with a DIY finish.

I love to do a little DYI and store bought especially great sweets from our local candy store. Yummy! It's a special time to let the one you love really know it. I would love to have roses all over the bed and bedroom and some strawberries covered in choc. for him, after all he is the love of my life! If he is really good maybe some bubbley!
Im a DIYer! ESP on Valentines Day, Im more traditional and so many store bought products look so fabricated. I believe in cut out hearts, doilies, stamps and red, pink and white.
I also love making treats for my kids and my hubby, He's a Chocoholic, so this year its heart shaped buckeyes
DIY dinner, desert and gifts. I will buy some fun stuff to add to it all.
DIY definitely! I don't remember the last time I bought a card. My mom, sister, and I are all DIY divas, so I'm sure my mom's influence had something to do with it. I have fun doing it and I love that it really means a lot to the people receiving my gifts and cards. My fiance says the only problem is that he can never out-do me.
I like to do both and mix it up a little. I surely like adding my own touch to things whether I make it or buy it. It would be awesome to have all the rose petals to add to the lovely day.
I have an inner DIY DIVA just dying to emerge! I see all the lovely handmade items created by others (which are always amazing and hands-down better than the mass-produced boring items) but never seem to find the time to execute on my own. Hey, that's a late-bloomed new-year's resolution: "FIND MORE TIME FOR THE DIY DIVA IN ME TO EMERGE." Why not start with Valentine's Day creations? Sounds good to me.
Cut out sugar cookies with pretty sprinkles always makes my family smile on Valentine's Day. I love you from the heart and hands is always best! Rock on DIY!
I am DEFINATELY a DIY valentine. My mom has always done my Valentines when I was a child and I loved the look of them. So now, every year on Valentines we spend a month or so before the holiday looking all over for adorable, sparkly and lovey dovey things to put on our Valentine cards. We search all over Ebay and Vintage or Antique stores for old Valentine cards and go to about every craft store in the city! It's always tons of fun finding things to decorate with and giving genuine cards to your sweetheart.
DIYer to the fullest!
DIY dinner, cards and gifts. I think it adds a personal touch that store bought gifts just don't have.
Diy all the way!!! This would be huuuge.
I'm a mix of all – DIY is sweet… but only when they turn out!
I'm a DIY for dinner and a card, but there are some things that I am not capable of making (I bought my darling husband a video game. If I could make that, I would… but I think it's a bit out of my league. LOL)
A little of both…. dinner homemade, gift bought
I've always been a DIY valentine person, since I was a little kid. We used to start making the valentines for our class as soon as we put away our Christmas decorations. I made them all the way through college, and I know make valentines (in French) with my high school students. There's nothing like a new pack of paper
I'd like to think I'd be a DIY'er but the reality is that I'm store bought. But a girl can dream…
Take baby steps.
im making homemade cookies and cupcake this year i would love to win roses.
I'm newly married and love making homemade gifts for my husband on Valentine's Day.This year, I'll be making him a "coupon book" made from Valentine's-inspired scrapbooking paper. I also love making a homemade dinner or dessert.
When it comes to gifts I am more practical and buy store bought. I keep things in mind that I know my husband won't buy himself but would really like.
A little bit of both for my love of 21 years. I get all tingly when he spoils me on the special day for sweethearts.
For Valentines Day, my hubby and I always go out to a romantic dinner, but this year will be different. Since we are first time home owners, we don't have the extra to splurge, so maybe I will cook his favorite meal, light some candles and he can light a nice fire in our fireplace, and of course- pop open a nice bottle of red.
I am a DYIer for sure! I love making special, one of a kind homemade surprises for my husband. It means so much when the gift comes from the heart!!!
Valentines day has always been one of my favorite holidays. It's a time to let your significant other know he or she is loved. Sometimes it's not expressed enough when life gets busy.
I'm a DIY. My back hallway is decorated with large red flowers I MADE from valentine tissue paper. They are paired with foiled hearts that hang down from hooks. Driving down my street you'll see my front porch's window decorated with white, pink, and red lights accompanied with festive heart lights and foiled heart cut outs. It's nothing spectacular but I think it sends a message to the passer byers, "remember love."
I'm looking forward to making heart shaped cookies made with love for my sweetheart. They will be served on a valentine plate. Usually, I make a heart shaped card. This year I bought a valentine.
I do a bit of both!
I love DIY because then I can personalize it perfectly!
I am a go to the store, It seems to be easier that way. I would love to suprise my fiancé for valentines day
To be truthful, it is according to time. I have 5 children, work from home, and my husband works all over the U.S., so sometimes, I am a DIYer, but sometimes I just don't have the time.
DIY for sure!! Enjoy being creative.
Diy – bought 50/50! We are making this year special…Pretending that it is our 50th anniversary and taking an Alaska cruise for our 35th anniversary this summer…..We do not want to be one of those couples that say "we never made it to our 50th anniversary because…….one of us died…sick yada yada yada. EEK!!!! sounds a bit morbid (sorry) but at 55 years vs 70 years old we thought we would have better memories now and we would sure be getting around a bit better. Kinda fun when we tell everyone we are taking our 50th anniversary trip! They pause and then say no way, you can't be that old!!! You would have been 5 years old when you got married, or you look so young! Heck of a lot of fun! So rose petals would OMG make our 50th Year Valentine extra extra special! I make a special dinner and my husband brings home wine (not normal for him…i'm sure he gets some help with choice
)we exchange cards and TADA !!!!!!!!!
I am definitely a DIY kinda gal, that way I know everything will be perfect on that special day!!!
I've been making my own Valentines since I was a kid, and plan to introduce my preschooler to it this year – doilies, glitter, construction paper, and glue = fun times!
What a neat Ideal! love it!
