I recently moved into a new apartment, and I’ve been working on a design project – creating a comfortable home office. Frequently, these work zones are plain, with beige walls, brown furniture and drab decor that doesn’t fuel inspiration. Who wants to work under those conditions? I believe a home office should be an extension of the rest of your home. Here are some of my favorites sure to help you be super productive.
Small home offices can pack a decorative punch. Vibrant details like a floral rug make this a beautiful space to work in from 9-5.
I like the idea of bringing unconventional pieces into a home office. Rolled up remnants from a wallpaper project can add of potpourri of pattern and color. And living room furnishings, like a settee with some chic pillows, make this space feel cozy.
Take cues from accessories in other rooms in your home when decorating your office. This is the perfect place for dramatic light fixtures and statement draperies. Storage options in a basic color scheme will help keep the space looking tidy and organized.
I like to bring together furnishings from different eras to create a lived-in feel. An industrial table paired with a contemporary chair gives this office character.
If you’re like me and own lots of books, a simple storage system like the Expedit from IKEA will make a world of difference. Even the messiest office will look efficient when you arrange books in clean, white cubbies.

I love these!!!
Thanks for posting, I remember that picture from Domino!

Great office ideas! I recently created my own "dream home office" as well. Can't wait to make it a reality some day
