This week’s Freebie Friday is in honor of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” moments. I love my inherited wrought-iron chandelier and brass candlesticks, but they don’t jive with the contemporary design of my home. How do I modernize a 120-year-old piece of working art and grandma’s hand-me-downs? With decorative candle sleeves, of course! (Seriously, why didn’t I think of that?) Kaarskoker is the colorful alternative to cracked and yellowed candle sleeves on a chandelier…bling for boring old candlesticks. Simply slide on one of their 100+ patterns (some for under $10/pair), and you’ve got an instant update for your room.

Kaarskoker wants to glam up your tablesetting, mantel or light fixtures with your choice of a pair of silver or brass candlesticks (brass is back, you know) and three sets of candle sleeves (I love kkHoundstooth & kkPeacock). There will be two winners, so answer this week’s question before 12/11c Monday, March 14, for a chance to win.
This week’s question: When do your candlesticks get used? Holiday parties? Romantic dinners? Power outages only?

My candle sticks are out all of the time! Would love to accessorize them with these sleeves!
-Chic Done Cheap
Who knew sleeves for candle sticks existed???
When do my candlesticks get used? New Years Eve. I have an annual party. Each year I try to come up with a whimsy design for my dining room table. Candles are always incorporated.
These sleeves would be fun to try out!!! They remind me of beautiful scrap booking paper you can buy at the craft store. Cool huh!
I don't own any candlesticks but if I did I think I'd leave them out all t he time!
My candlesticks are constantly used, even when they're not lit. What I mean by this is that they are great decoration pieces on their own. I light them when I want to create an intimate feel at dinnertime. I also have some in my bedroom that I like to light and then lay in bed and relax with my sweetheart. I have never had candle sleeves and I think they are a great way to add vibrant pops of color to what would be a simple candlestick.
I have a collection, for lack of a better word, of candlesticks. On my mantle I have all different heights, widths, colors, textures of candlesticks displayed. It is one of the focal points in my living room. These sleeves would be a great addition to this collection to add a different vibe!!
Candlesticks are used as decor year round, however candles are only lit for special occasions. Balance of the time Jar Candles are used.
Really, why didn't I think of this? Would love to use these candlesticks and sleeves in my decor.
I have beautifull brass candlesticks that were my great grandmother's and sterling slver candlesticks that were my step-dad's. We use candles all the time and would welcome an amazing contempory pair!
Im not even sure where they are to be honest! Sad, but true.
Decor, all the time. Lit, for company.
I use our candlesticks for romantic dinners. I love having the table set perfectly with the soft glow of flickering fire bouncing off the dishes.
i use this for Romantic dinners with my bf it really helps set the mood.
I always think of candlesticks as decor only, not for use. The little jar candles get burned in my house!
my candlesticks sadly don't get used as much as the should… special occasions only.
I use my candlesticks for holiday & special occasion dinners.
I have everyday candlesticks and candlesticks that come out for special occasions. I wish we had more special occasions for them to get shown off!
Mine get used for romantic dinners.
MIne get used a lot! I have some that are just for everyday, some that are for special occassion (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving- and they are color coordinated- Green for Christmas, light pink for Easter, Vanilla for Thanksgiving)
But my favorite time to pull out the candles is birthdays- I have a deep set of purple that I use for my birthday!
I use candlesticks a lot. My house is 110 yrs old and they look great all over. I also think these sleeves would be great over sconces!
Covering candlesticks to go with different decor and to create different moods is a nice idea. I have wooden candlesticks on display all the time. They are used for special occasions, for romantic dinners with my husband and also for power outages. Candles are great at this time of year when it gets dark early and the days are gloomy. They brighten up my day!
Personally, my candlesticks have yet to be used. I bought them to have a romantic evening with my boyfriend and ended up forgetting a match! I am waiting for our anniversary in April. I'm planning on cooking him a nice dinner and hopefully lighting some candle sticks!
I keep brass, silver and crystal candlesticks on all my tables and enjoy them every day of the year.
I have candlesticks as everyday decor. They really compliment my antique home. I light them for many reasons: dinner, company, mood, special occasions, and of course power outages. Jar candles are lit everyday to bring peaceful atmosphere.
I keep some out all the time and glam up my table and mantel for special occasions by taking out the rest of the candlesticks. I am so happy to see that Kaarskoker has taken the candle sleeve into 2011!! I love the prints, especially the houndstooth!! These would look dynamite on my mantel and table top.
I have my crystal candlesticks all year round. However, my candles rarely get lit unless there is a power outage.
My candle sticks usually stay up unless I am in the billiards room with col. Mustard… actually they are displayed on my buffet all the time

I have not been able to find nice candle stick holders since our house caught fire last July. I would love these for our new/used dining room table! Plus how amazing would it be to change them to match the flowers or dishes being used!
Mine are on my spinet piano. I not only light candles when I play romantic melodies but for ragtime, gospel, rock, and hip-hop. The touch of candle light set the mood for any occasion, especially when Mom and my sisters gather around to sing. It's magical!!!
i use candlesticks all the time. They are a permanent part of my decor for my dining room. Would love to try your candlestick sleeves.
I love this idea! I keep inheriting my mom's antiques as she is trying to thin out her house, but often times I don't know how to blend them into my decor. This is a clever idea. My candlesticks now are mostly used for holiday or special dinners. Otherwise they are used as simple decor.
Brass is back?!? Where have i been?
I use a candle stick by each bed in the winter. Makes it cozy.
Mine are displayed year-round. However, you made me stop and think. We need to use ours more. Tonight is pizza night, I think I might toss a bit of surprise at my family and light the candles. Thanks!
We leave our candlesticks out all the time and use them whenever we have company…..also handy in a power outage.
My candlesticks are out all the time on my dinner table. We light candles on occassion and turn off all the lights (not even a special occasion) just to have a neat, fancy dinner…and the kids love it!
Since I have more stuff than display space, my candlesticks are in and out of the rotation. They may show up on my mantle, the credenza, or as part of the table centerpiece. I light the candles on special occasions, but, hey–Tuesday can be mighty special sometimes!
I LOVE candles! I leave them out year round, as I think everyday is special!
I love using my candlesticks all year round; however, they only get lit during dinner parties, Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas times. I'd love to renew my old set for a newer model that's for sure!!

So please if you don't mind; pick me to win this prize.
I leave my candlesticks out as part of my home decor. I have changed candle colors to change the look. These candle sleeves would be very neat!
My candlesticks are out all of the time! I have brass, glass, pewter, iron, wooden and probably some others that I don't remember! Oh, yea, and a hanging chandelier with candles; does that count?
I have candlesticks in my living room, dining room, family room, kitchen and bedroom! I cluster and repurpose them seasonally and for Holidays. I have many different styles and shapes. I light the kitchen candles every night when I'm cooking, it helps me relax and sets the mood. The family room ones are usually lit every night, too!
I love to use my candles on cold fall & winter evenings. They create such a wonderful ambiance!
Only at dinner parties or christmas eve
I use candle sticks all the time. These would be a great spring accent for sure. They would stay out to help bring spring in doors.
I use my candlesticks at dinner parties and holidays. Makes my house smell so good
I use the set of candlesticks I have all the time. During different times of the year they're wrapped with different garland and I like to swap out different colored candles to match the season.
My candlesticks are in multiple rooms, and used for multiple purposes: Romance in the bedroom, mood lighting in the dining room, and for scent in the kitchen (cinnamon candles) powder room during dinner parties. Love the sleeves idea!
My candlesticks are out always and used whenever I just want them lit! Dinner does not have to be special, but candles, family and friends make it so and candles add so much warmth! Though holidays, parties and romantic settings all are heightened by candlelight!
Would love these in my apartment!
I have candlesticks of various kinds throughout my everyday decor. I use different colored candles for holidays or seasons. Although only teal ights, votives and jar candles are lit on a daily basis since they are available in many scents and can be left unattended. Tapers are usually only lit for dinners in the dining room or parties. Primarily because the tapers drip due to drafts from overhead vents and usually make a mess on the sticks or table if they are out of sight. Glad to learn that brass is back, since I have lots of that type of sticks. What a great idea, sleeves to change the look! I would love to win them to share with my sister! Thanks.
I have not used my candlesticks in a while. This post makes me want to get them out and put them on the table! Since we had our baby girl 9 months ago decor has not been as much of a priority.
Mine are on my spinet piano. I not only light candles when I play romantic melodies, but for ragtime, gospel, rock, and hip-hop. The touch of candle light sets the mood for any occasion, especially when Mom and my sisters gather around to sing. It's magical!!!
