Have you ever visited a town or small city and stumbled upon this one shop brimming with the coolest, most unusual items ever. You know, the store with decadent handmade soaps wrapped in gorgeous papers, one-of-a-kind jewelry impossible to duplicate and goodies you’ve never seen before from far-away lands. (And you want to cry, because it’s all so beautiful but your suitcase is only so big!) Well, we’ve found that shop’s online doppleganger.

The Loaded Trunk

The Loaded Trunk is a collection of handmade goods hand-picked by owner Roni Jaco during her travels around the globe. Roni spends several weeks each year scouring stores in Vietnam, markets in Mexico and artisan workshops in Uzbekistan. So every visit to The Loaded Trunk’s website promises a new treasures unlike anything you’ve seen in other stores. To my delight, Roni pulled two of her latest finds — Mexican embroidered pillows from the Otomi Indians — just for us. BONUS: They are in honeysuckle, Pantone’s Color of the Year.

For a chance to win a pair of these striking pillows just leave us a comment before 12/11c Monday, April 11, to be entered for a chance to win.

I love the simple Asian style, with simple lines and natural elements.

  4. Jean T says:

If I had my way it would be Hawaiian. Vibrant colors of the flowers, cool colors of the water. There isn't much to not like!

  5. sister6 says:

My decorating style is the USA, red, white, and blue, with some yellows mixed in:) However these darling pillows would look wonderful on my antique family heirloom chair in my office!

  6. Joanne says:

i'm still working on developing a personal style. when i envision what i'd like a room to look like i see eastern hues and native american influences depending on the room, but when i actually choose prints and textures for my home i choose things inspired by nature. i'd have to say that i'm less inspired by one culture/country over another, and moreso that i am inspired by that which is universal–green hues that mirror nature, the textures of wood and botanicals, neutrals and eco friendly materials, with shocks of bright color like a flowering bush or a brightly colored bird.

Danish/Swedish. White walls, wood floors, simple and natural textiles with pops of color in unexpected places.

I am originally from Russia, my husband is from Japan we love eating food from both places. Our home is a little bit of both. We love colors with our white couch and walls :D

  11. Ron Miller says:

Switzerland, neutral… A cluster of everything, no particular design motivation behind anything in this house

  12. Anne says:

Mixing and matching is my style. The pillows are great.

  13. Ginger Koumalats says:

I don't think I can pick one country… Sweden for their lines, Norway for the colors, France for the feel, USA for the eclecticism of it all… I guess I'm a style melting pot!!

  14. svanessa says:

Italy, no question. Love the old world colors of Sienna, Florence, Lucca and other Tuscan cities I was lucky enought to visit a few years ago.

  15. And Then She Said says:

Peru and folk artfrom Eastern Europe. Also really love seeing so many Suzani & Ikat fabrics available!

  16. Krister says:

My style is very Canada-influenced. I adore the clean lines of Haida art, and the few pieces of it I have are the inspiration for the rest of my design choices.

  17. Rosie says:

I would have to say a Spanish style. For some reason the Spanish style is always so vibrant and colorful it makes your eyes drawn to look at so many things in the room. Good conversation always!

  18. Carrie Conley says:

I going to say the good old USA….but I never really thought about it….From now on I will and It will be the good old USA

  19. jeff says:

I'd say Africa…I love the colors, the bold graphics and the whole vibe.

  20. Kat says:

I would have to say Germany. It's the only other country I've been to and love the modern minimalist style I saw when I was there.

  21. Stephanie says:

I feel like our style resembles Italy. Old world meets more modern design. I love to mix them both, since I can't choose a fav.

  22. Kendra says:

I think also USA. We love clean lines and uncluttered style, but we have some fun family antiques that we enjoy incorporating. I have never thought about this question though, so I will continue to think about it.

  23. Cherie says:

I love these pillows!! They are rockin my world!

  24. Marlynda says:

Japan with it's minimalism or zen style is a perfect example of my own personal design style. There is something about the balance between space and objects that I find very elegant. I have a strong liking towards that openness feel of a room, the warm glow of indirect lighting, and incorporating elements of nature inside. There is an instant attraction to the color used as well. Great question! :)
