From the time I laid my eyes on an enormous Chinese scroll my stepmother (Hi Marijke!) received from her father, I’ve loved vintage Chinoiserie.

de gournay wallpaper

While this De Gournay hand-painted silk wallpaper isn’t vintage itself, it draws from 18th century Chinoiserie with a palpable history crafted right into its imagery. The green Earlham design above is so rich and serene, I might trade my first born for even one panel of it. And the pairing with a red velvet armchair? To die for.

This wallpaper is just beautiful! I love the green tones and the delicate details depicted on it. A chinoiserie papered wall is a nice touch in a room. http://www.skylarkmanor.com

about the degournay wallcovering, I have installed at least, I would say, 100 or more ranging from the usual custom for the room, made by hand but not specifically for a certain room, and also the different ones that resemble Zuber. Also enjoy the coi (japenese carp). My phone number is 415 922-2733 (san Francisco).
I work anywhere, incuding the islands, New York etc. My name is Bill Emberton and have been an installer
    since 1971.

Thanks for the lovely post. I'm always debating between the Degournay (www.degournay.com) , Gracie Studios (www.graciestudios.com) and Griffin and Wong designs http://www.griffinandwong.com – but will probably stick with Griffin and Wong for a second project.
