  1. My Mom taught me that you should never microwave your food in the foil it was wrapped in, and that no matter how old you get, you'll always be her little one.

Mom told me to always be on my best behavior and never leave the house without a little makeup on (Thanks Mom!!). The best housekeeping tip was to use a homemade hummingbird recipe for our little friends that was all natural instead of the artificial coloring put in the store bought ones. She taught me so many good things it's hard to pick just one. Love to all you moms out there and hope you have a great Mother's Day!!

My Mom taught me to clean the rooms, living room, kitchen, hall bath first . That way if someone comes over those are the rooms they will see.

My mom taught me your home will be there tomorrow, your children will not. Hold them and love them today, take them outside and let them help you plant a tree or shrub. When they return, they can share the beauty of your garden with their children.

The best advice my Mom gave me was to make my bed every morning. She said making my bed will only take 2 minutes. When I come home at the end of the day, no matter if the whole day has been chaotic, it is guaranteed that I will have a nice, neat, and comfortable place that I can crash onto. Even if everything else happened out of my control, making my bed in the morning is definitely something I can.

  20. Stephanie says:

To get rid of slugs, smash a pie tin into your soil so the lip is even with the dirt. Pour a little "pool" of beer in the pie tin. The slugs will be drawn to the smell, drink and be merry, and have such a good time they can't crawl back out!

My Mom's decorating is whimsical. When I visit I look to see what she has done to decorate. Recently, I noticed in her bathrooms she took a long curtain panel, flipped it over a rod and tied the front piece with silk flowers. It looked so pretty. I had to do it in my bathroom too. Honestly, mine didn't come out as good but that's alright.
