The official first day of summer is mere weeks away. Temperatures are heating up across the country. And the sun doesn’t set now until after dinner. It’s time to celebrate life outdoors. To get our Design Happens readers ready for the season of barbecue get-togethers, graduation parties and three-day holiday weekends, we’re giving away awesome outdoor furniture and decor from Frontgate every Friday in May.

Frontgate Copper Fire Pit

Since many parts of the nation are still experiencing chilly evening temps, this week’s giveaway is a copper fire pit. Copper is one of the absolute best conductors of heat, making this one of the best fire pits on the market. We want you to take one home! Just leave us a comment before 12/11c on Monday, May 9th to be entered into the random drawing.

This week’s question: What stylish additions help make your outdoor space party ready? Tiki torches, colorful outdoor pillows, hurricane lamps, fun outdoor dinnerware?

  1. We finally are able to use our back yard. We have a cement platform which a fire pit will sit quite well. We purchased a swing, pattio furniture, so far we have candel lanters along the fence. Our grill sits nicelly on the side of the kitchen window. Things are starting to look up however, the fire pit will add a bit of warmth on the chilly Bay Area nights. Sure would like to win it.

Our patio area really could use some sprucing up. When time permits, it is a nice place to go unwind & have some much needed "quiet time". And, there's just something about a fire, it's intriquing to watch, it's very peaceful, warms up your space & creates a very unique focal point, too.__

  12. Dara says:

Out outdoor space right now is the front porch with swing and two chairs. We have, however, talked about putting a deck on the back of the house for entertaining/relaxing. Would love to get a head start on accessorizing the space with this lovely firepit!

We have lots of those strings of solar lights. We hang them in the trees which look lovely at night time. Did think about getting a chiminea but like the look of the fire pits much more. They look more stylish. Also have a lovely wooden table and chairs and some wooden loungers with cushions. Always popular when people come round!

  20. Paula says:

  23. Martha Lee says:

My deck is simple yet inviting because it's outside! Colorful cushions on sparce deck funiture helps but best is to be surrounded by nature's colors, the green grass below, the rose bushes in bloom nearby and the colorful deck plants. (PS I love HGTV!)

  24. Cherry_C says:

me and my fiance bought this house 6 months ago, it was quite a fixer upper, and we are just trying to fix here and there little by little. the house has a huge backyard which can fit a legal size tennis court. the previous owner didn't really taking go care of the yard and the lawn was patchy. we are planning to put a fire pit in the yard so the kids can make some smores in a summer night and keep us warm in the winter time. wish us luck =)

The Frontgate fire pit is BEAUTIFUL! I love to decorate our patio with varying chairs and tables, a lit up palm tree and any fun luau or summer themed items. The firepit would be perfect for our family gatherings as they usually go on all day and into the evening. It would help to take the chill out of the air and entice family and friends to stay even later. What a fun idea. :-)

  32. Mary Darnauer says:

I would love to win this beautiful fire pit. I would truly enjoy it. Our large patio (community living) has numerous tables w/chairs and umbrellas, a raised flower garden and tons of various flowers, bushes and trees to make it feel natural. I feed the birds and also the hummingbirds out there.

I live out in the country so the beauty of my back yard lies in the natural setting. We have a small in ground firepit my son built, a water garden that will be completed soon. There is nothing as relaxing as a warm fire outside and the sound of runningwater. The copper firepit would be a wonderful addition and enhance the ability to widen the area to relax in.
