It’s week three of our fabulous month of outdoor decor giveaways from Frontgate. This week it’s all about keeping your outdoor space looking stylishly neat and trim. We’ve got this gorgeous copper hose pot — perfect for tucking away that gangly gardening essential when guests come by for a mid-summer soiree. I love the rustic elegance of the pot’s patina. I can totally picture it at a vineyard in Napa Valley nestled beside a showy bougainvillea dripping with blooms.

Copper Hose Pot

Just leave us a comment before 12/11c Monday, May 23 for your chance at this useful — and gorgeous — piece of garden art.

This week’s question: When guests make an unexpected visit, what outdoor unsightliness do you find yourself rapidly cleaning or scurrying to tuck away from view? (A collection of newspapers that haven’t made it inside or recycling that hasn’t made it to the street? Repositioning a welcome mat that the cat has dragged across the front porch?)

    Typically the front yard looks stellar but the back looks like my 15 month old son's playground. When people I show up I try to dump it all into the toy buckets but those surprise visitors sometimes get to see the way we really live! Hoses are always a pain to keep hung up nice and neat like because those glossy green loops are too tempting for little hands! A hose pot would sure help on that font!

    I am forever sweeping up dry leaves or flower petals!!

  3. Tamara says:

    This time of year, it's all about the maple seed "helicopters" – they fall everywhere, and leave such an unsightly mess!

  4. CroninCompanyStore says:

    I love this hose pot! Quite often they are shiney and draw attention. This one compliments my outdoor decor. Beautiflu!

  5. Coyotesrock says:

    The copper pot is beautiful! I have to sweep the patio, check out the grill area and find the end of the hose! It is like a scavenger hunt to find the end and put it in hiding. Pray they don't show up while I'm running around looking for it!

    My husband and I are building a new house on the family home place. We will be re-using old brick from chimney's, a mirror from the house, and some unique pieces of furniture. This would be a beautiful place to tuck away the hose! One less thing to hide from our long list of picking up our dirty work boots, hiding unused flower pots, sweeping away the leaves, . . .

  7. Sadie says:

    Since I have arthritis I need to leave the hose out. We get quite a bit of pollen on our porch that needs to be hosed off. My hose now is in the driveway!

  8. amhloon says:

    I always need to sweep the front walk & steps before company comes over.The slightest breeze send junk all over the place! AND empty the outdoor ashtray, while I am appreciative of people using it, nobody needs to look at that when they first see my home!
    The copper pot is AWESOME you don't have to hide it :)

  9. Vivian says:

    Currently using a large planter to corral my hose. Would love to win this beautiful item.

  10. Kaye says:

    I'm quickly sweeping the leaves that have blown in from the neighbor's, who can't be bothered to rake their leaves and they accumulate in their carport to be distributed to my house throughout the year.

  11. Dianne says:

    Our water hose is all over the place, would LOVE a neat place to tuck it away, love that copper pot!

  12. LaDonne says:

    Right now I'd have to clear away two marigolds that died this week! Too hot in Florida this week for them!

  13. kate mouser says:

    My son does derby cars so I try and have him clean up fenders and such but for the most part I keep flowers blooming which distracts from the uglys

  14. Seabrook2003 says:

    I love the copper pot. I find myself cleaning anything our dog should not have left in the immediate outside area. She's usually pretty good about this, but, sometimes it happens.

  15. Hatzin says:

    Our hose is sitting in an ugly standard plastic and metal holder attached to the wall outside and it's a shame to have an ugly hose there under my beautiful Japanese maple. We have great swing on porch but the chains are a little rusty and it needs to be updated outside. I normally rushed to clean the cobwebs on the porch and shake the outdoor rug!

  16. beejay says:

    I have been drooling over this copper hose hider! Thanks for the opportunity to win it!

  17. JMHayne says:

    My outdoor seating often gets used for other things like a potting bench or plant stand when bodies aren't in the seats, so a quick hose off or wipe off are required when company is coming.

  18. Jodi says:

    My dogs like to gather sticks and leave them on the front porch to play with next time they go out. Usually I am ok with this but when people come over it is a bit embarrassing that they have to step over the sticks to get to the door.

  19. Danielle says:

    My whole backyard is a bit of a disaster, but if I have enough notice I will try to plant some colorful annuals to cheer up the yard. I have given up trying to neatly coil the hose, it always tangles – I need this week's giveaway!

  20. Marcie says:

    besides trying to tuck the hose in the garage as it is usually all in a mound in the front by the driveway – I am usually trying to sweep the porch and walk, straighten the doormat, clearing cobwebs, and I can’t believe I’m going to admit this (hanging head) my daughter has the chore of scooping the litter boxes every day (usually later in the evening before bed) and she leaves the bag of scooping on the front porch to take out in the morning. Unfortunately in a bad bad habit she often forgets and it gets left there so I am usually quick to check and see if the bag is gone before any guests arrive :-D

  21. Cheryl says:

    The giant hole in our backyard that the previous owners left for us.

  22. thesotos says:

    Until I retire, Saturday mornings are spent in my "outdoor room" having coffee and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. I mow the yard, clip, etc. after that to enjoy the rest of the week after work. Yes, the garden hose seems to be the last thing put away….that pot would look great in my outdoor room!

  23. Julie Nathe says:

    It is the patio table for me. It is glass and I love to sit out at it with expected and unexpected guests. However, when my guests are unexpected normally it is full of bird poop and dirt. I hurry up and clean it and then enjoy my company! I'M GONNA WIN THIS HOSE POT, I'M GONNA WIN THIS HOSE POT, I'M GONNA WIN THIS HOSE POT!

  24. joanlife says:

    Love, Love, Love…how copper ages. Frontgate never lets you down!

  25. Wiscraft says:

    This would lok great in my front yard. I was looking for something to hide the hose and this is perfect!__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    It's beautiful! I love Frontgate! I hope I win!

  27. TJwillwin says:

    I'm not like most… I pray I am not. (I sorely wish I was!)
    The first unsightly thing I try to straighten up is myself. I spend most of my days abed. Some days the pain is so great I don't have the strength to stand in the shower (praying fervently to win a home with a bath!!!).
    I don't post this to garner pity for myself…lol! No! I have no use for that … I post for honesty sake :)
    After I manage to get myself in some semblance of presentability, I try and straighten whatever the kids and dogs have flung into the walking paths of our basement…lmao!
    Nothing worse than bare feet on a dog bone or dirty socks on the floor in front of the couch!!! If I didn't know better I would swear my boys were heathens and the dogs in cahoots with them :)
    ~~~if you have time, please take a minute to learn about Chiari Malformation… it is what I have, underwent brain surgery for, and is ultimately what has continued to create challenges for me and my small family :)
    God bless and I wish everyone luck!!! The copper hose pot is as artful as it is functional :) God bless…
    The Frontgate Patina Copper Hose Pot is beautiful way to hide the unsightly garden hose. I hope I win it.
  29. DLK says:
    The huge pot that I use to store my garden hose is now broken from the latest storm and this would be really vool outside of my condo on my patio.
  30. Kristin says:
    Slippers in front of the door
  31. martha says:
    I would love to win this copper hose pot.. Living in Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain, I always make sure the front enterance is maintained and ready for my guest!! Right now my garden hose is in a plastic container that looks awful!! So if you could just pick me as the winner, I promise, I will make sure everyone in OKLAHOMA knows that I won the copper pot!! Thanks in advance for being the winner!!!
  32. Colleen says:
    I try to quickly put away as many of my kids outdoor toys as possible!
  33. LadyCourtney says:
    Back porch seems to be the collect basin, there's always something that hasn't quite made it to the shed or shop. I usually head out the back door to make sure all is put away as soon as I hear someone on the driveway.
  34. Peggy says:
    Our garden hose lays on the lawn curled up around itself like a snake waiting to strike ! The copper pot would contain this lawn snake quite nicely and would coordinate with the copper windchime we have .
  35. Vicki says:
    I'm trying to watch Designed to Sell, which has always been a favorite with me but that horrible canned drum beat background "music" just drives me nuts. I quit watching awhile ago but have so missed the show. This is Do-It-Yourself-idea programing…not movies or drama and I just want to hear what they are saying and watch what they are doing…no background noise! I just wonder how many other folks out there feel the way I do. The only program I know that doesn't have this noise is Sell This House on A&E. And though I like DTS better, I can hardly stand to watch it…sometimes I just have to mute it but then miss what the designer is saying. PLEASE…HGTV…consider dropping the drumbeat-crap "music" background noise…anybody else?
  36. Ming says:
    It's got to be cleaning the outdoor table glass top so it's sparkling clean… it gets dirty so quickly.
  37. jkoosha says:
    The most ashamed eyesore is the old citronella candles that have drowned flies and tree pollen stuck in them.
  38. mary ann wiggington says:
    I love gardening. This is something I can use for my hose.^_^
  39. Lori says:
    front yard: we recycle old ice tea plastic jugs to water plants, & if there is an old planter/pot that got set aside from a dead plant being removed…broken stuff also, that my husband sets aside. If it's the back patio, then definitely dog poop!
  40. Betty says:
    Oh Easy! The mess that is left on the floor, on the counter, and in his easy chair! Yes, it's my husband's shoes, cups, & snack crumbs! Having the copper hose pot would be one thing I could have nice and neat! Could use two in fact; one for each side of the house!
  41. Ron Miller says:
    You might be a redneck if you hide a garden hose in a copper pot, uglier then the hose!
  42. Wiscraft says:
    I would love to win this hose reel. It would look great in my front yard garden. FIngers crossed. :)
  43. Cami says:
    love the hose pot, really beautiful. I clean up the kids "stuff" because it's always everywhere! Shovels, bikes, balls, you name it.
  44. susan_lambert says:
    I love this, it is beautiful! I have a copper theme in my kitchen, would really accent it!
  45. tali says:
    we rush to straighten up the seating areas on the deck, sweep and get the table set up for al fresco dining. Our garden is behind the house and we use a very long hose, which would love a home like this!
  46. Sharon says:
    I'm usually grabbing the shoes and sandals that have been shed at the door.
  47. Maggie D says:
    I like to put pots of bright flowers on the front porch to welcome guests. Our hose in in the dirt near the front walkway so I make sure it is neatly rolled up. Would love to have this pot to put it in! I also have a welcoming wreath on the front door.
  48. DeAnna says:
    The hose! We try and keep it behind some shrubs in a nice pile, but it does not alway make it back. Even when it is pull back off the side walk it still looks like a mess. We have been wanting a special unique piece to keep it in.
  49. sharon says:
    Honestly – cleaning up any messes my dog has made on the fly – very embarrassing!
  50. Belinda says:
    We always have to run around outside to make sure our resident raccoons haven't scattered the trash all over in an effort to find a snack!
