You might have heard that words like ”OMG” and “party-crasher” were added to this year’s list of new words in the Oxford-English Dictionary. Now, we at HGTV have another word to add to the list: HGTV’d. Here’s the definition:

HGTV’d (v.)- 1. the act of talented HGTV designers traveling across the country in an 18-wheeler and arriving at the home of a surprised HGTV fan to give them over-the-top transformations of their home: “OMG! Did you hear that the party-crasher down the street was HGTV’d last week?”

HGTV'd Premiere - Get HGTV'd on HGTV

HGTV'd Family Room: Before & After

Tonight, pop some popcorn, invite some friends over and watch the premiere of HGTV’d at 9/8c. You’ll see dull spaces turn into wow spaces, like this now luxurious Regency-inspired family room by designer Kim Myles.

If you have a desperate space in need of a jaw-dropping makeover by an HGTV expert, enter a short video or photos for a chance to see the HGTV’d truck roll down your street and David Bromstad, Sabrina Soto, or who knows who, show up on your doorstep.

HGTV is HGTV'd

We were greeted with a surprise here at our headquarters this morning. Upon entering the building, all of the staff was officially HGTV’d with design vignettes by Bliss Home as seen in these two pics. It was a neat treat (considering we can’t enter the competition).

  5. Shanee says:

HGTV'd is when Candice Olson, David Bromstad and Vern Yip come over to redo my home. Now that's some me time!

  6. Anne Danciu says:

It would be amazing to be HGTV'd. We like to use our home to show love to our friends and family by opening our home for dinners, showers, birthdays, surprises. Our kitchen and bathrooms are in the 70's and could use an update. We also have an empty large deck with an unlandscaped back yard.

  7. Linda Rostock says:

We would love to be HGTV'd!!! Our home was built about 1948!! The kitchen and one & only bath are stuck in the 80's! Our backyard has an extremely small deck…and no landscaping! What do I need to do to get you to come to St Joseph, Missouri????

HGTV'd is being renewed, remodeled and redecorated by the best!

  9. redbarnartist says:

I love David Bromstad! Great designer…and artist! His redo shown tonight was very colorful and the young lady seemed to love it (it was a bit over the top for my taste, but…). As always, David included some great artwork of his own creation…I want to know if he exhibits anywhere, does he paint for other than hgtv episodes (he should!)?

  10. NC_Dsgr_Ed says:

I think the idea of this show is good although yet another makeover show.
However, David Bromstad's taste level is decking FAST!!!!!!!!!! As a designer myself, one of the first things
that one must deal with is the design style of the house. That "cottage" house was in no way relevant to his interior design. That look needs to stay in Miami and in the darkness of a sleazy nightclub/brothel. David get real……that leather flooring? How long will that look good for? Good design is timeless. That look tonight will be out in a year. Besides who could really live with all that "design" on a daily basis. Over the top is fine, but only when its in the right place, and that certainly doesn't belong in anyone's home.
All that was missing was the stripper pole!

  11. lsa says:

help! please come over and do my kitchen and bathroom, it really needs a makeover.

I wrote about it on my new design blog: http://rubenmarquezjr.com/blog/2011/06/06/have-yo

  14. lsa says:

I would love to be HGTV'd!!!, The kitchen and bathroom needs work!, What do I need to do to get you to come over to do a kitchen and bathroom makeover????

  15. Rose says:

I have three grandchildren and the oldest is a girl who wants to see disney world so bad but will never get to go due to finances. Her name is Layla and she likes to stay at our house in the country however we have nothing for them to play on and I would so love to be able to give them a small taste of Disney Land in our back yard. This would make a small girls dreams come true. My heart is children and would love surprise them with such a wounderful gift. Please consider my yard thank you

  16. Rhemi says:

I love David Bromstad! What do i have to do to get you to come to my place and fix it??

  17. Maria says:

to be HGTV'D does it cost the homeowner anything or is the pay for the person allowing their own home and themselves to be shown on National TV the exchange for Payment of the makeover…new design …or whatever they need to do that particular show?

  18. PAL says:

To get the chance of being HGTV'd would be such a dream come true. Our neighbor is just putting their cute home on the market and I fear our backyard and home will reduce their sellability. The home is pretty sturdy but neither my husband or I can get all that is needed to be done because it is too costly and so overwhelming. Our home is in Chehalis, WA and built in the 40's. House has some classic details but it is in an overwhelming state of needing a facelift. From the backyard all the way through the house and garage too is just so overwhelming that the little changes we can afford to do don't seem to make it any better.

  19. Guest says:

What a disappointment! This is the worst work David has ever done; including his efforts on Design Star. And, OMG, that shrieking Tankia…how did she get 2 HGTV shows and are we to be shrieked, screamed and distracted by her antics during the whole DS season? I hope she takes a chill pill soon. HGTV'd left me not wanting more but I will watch a couple more shows to see how Sabrina and John do.

  20. Jessica says:

If we got HGTV'd we would really need an up do in the kitchen or living room!!!!!!!!!!:S
In our living room we dont have matching furniture and there not confterbal and we have a place to put a fire place but we dont have one and it looks tacky!!!!!!!!!!!
In our kitchen we have a counter top that looks like the cake with the little spots of color in it but there smaller and our cabnets our wood and have no hard were.
What can i do to get u to come to New Richmond,OH?????????

  21. EllenD82 says:

Couldn't catch the premier, but I have another definition for "HGTV'd" (well, more of an acronym, actually): H = Hope. Hope that you pick us!! <a href="http://(http://my.hgtv.com/hgtvd/Kitchen/They-moved-in-in-1975-and-did-nothing-since/detail.esi?oid=23294386)” target=”_blank”>(http://my.hgtv.com/hgtvd/Kitchen/They-moved-in-in-1975-and-did-nothing-since/detail.esi?oid=23294386) Used to have a video in our submission, but it disappeared… G = Genevieve! She can design our kitchen! T = Transformation. That's what we need! V = Very ugly. That's what our kitchen is now! D = Design! We're open to anything new! Please pick us!

  22. Kim says:

Love the show, our family hope to be on the next HGTV'D . Live in a small single family home never had a real living space for entertainment always fighting over the bathroom because there is only one in the home. We need help shout out from Homestead Florida 33032. Yes Carter can, also Candice Olson, Vern Yep, and Tanika.

  23. Jazz says:

I enjoyed the HGTV'D show last night but I was sad to see the woman be so picky/ungrateful and doubtful as David did his design. For gosh sakes, she won an expensive makeover of a lousy looking (before) room!! Then all her comments were negative, pessimistic, questioning, and fear of what HGTV was going to do. She had THE EXPERTS there-where was her gratitude, manners, and trust- I did not like listening to what she had to say- did her momma not teach her humility & gratitude?!

  24. Almond says:

I loved the show, as long as we get more design shows the better, although I like House Hunters, I do believe that more decorating shows will balance the real estate out.

  25. NINI says:

PLEASE COME DO OVER OUR HOUSE IM 12 AND REALLY DONT THINK IT REPRESENTS US AS INDIVIDUALS.THE KITCHEN,BASEMENT,LIVING AND DINING ROOM NEED SO MUCH WORK. AND WE WOULD BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL IF YOU CAME TO BROOKLYN TO DO OUR HOUSE. I AM A BIG FAN OF HGTV AND WOULD LOVE IF YOU GUYS COULD DO OUR HOUSE. WE HAD A FIRE AND NEED HELP.

I love HGTV, Vern, Candice, John, David, Emily — what wonders you work. Please transform my place.

  28. mspumpum says:

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE WHAT YOU DID DAVID!!!! about time something over the top, something new and refreshing… LOVED THE YELLOW SOFA. Keep on doing it. Everything just came together beautifully. You are young and hip with ideas to match and I want to see more of it. To those that didn't like it, sorry he's not a "grandma" decorator like your used to.

As a fan of HGTV there is no program that I do not like and everytime there is a new program my heart races in the hope that it will be in my state, and I will get the surprise of my life. My house is in terrible disrepair and will keep dreaming that one day I wiil be saying Welcome to my home HGTV!

  38. Natalie Doell says:

I watched an episode of a bathroom makeover today. They applied a stick-on frame to a bathroom mirror. What is the name of this product and where can it be purchased

  39. Jodi White says:

Where do I start… We have our house paid off and it is need of updating. We live in Las Vegas where the price of houses has been going steadily down… We don't want to put a whole lot into our house, but we don't want it to be so out dated we can't sell when we get ready. We also have a pool that we can't sit around because there is no shade. If you are not swimming you fry! Please help!!!

  40. Sabrina S says:

Finally viewed this show for the first time (1890s Victorian Great Room makeover), and I must say I feel sorry for the Fletter family… Good design takes a family's needs and the way they live into consideration. Good design also respects its context — here, a historic Victorian house, which the owners have lovingly restored, respecting its character. The modern design imposed by HGTV failed to take into account either the family's needs or the house's historical context. How can a family with two small children live without a proper kitchen or dining table?? The designer's comment that the children can just move all of their stuff elsewhere in the house reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of how families with small children live, *together*. And his wood cutout wine wall was certainly impressive, but better suited for a bar than a family home… Based on what I've seen (and unlike most other HGTV productions), this show is more a showcase for designer egos, than a real effort to design for their clients' needs.

  41. Carly says:

I really love the idea of this show! So far I've really enjoyed watching it! However…. I must comment on the Jamie Durie garage makeover…. That wife/mother really irked me when she kept nit-picking and snooping and doubting everything! UGH! Seriously?!?!? It's JAMIE DURIE making over your house!!! He could knock down my entire house if he wanted to, I wouldn't have a care in the world. I get that it's probably a bit overwhelming and what not, but I would never act that way if someone were making over my house….. It just makes me upset that there are TONS of other more deserving families out there who would DIE to have half of that done. I am glad that they seemed to love it in the end, but….. Anyways…. I do like the show and will continue watching! :)

  42. WIVH says:

    Hi Everyone, at HGTV'D ~
My daughter, who at 36, married for the first time, to someone, who has been married before, and has the same house, him & first wife lived in. My daughter has been re~doing all the rooms, BUT…..the kitchen is
another story! Cabinets are not wood, & peeling, tile is cracked in several places on the floor. Stove door,
broken, frig, not so good. I don't have a video camera, & really wouldn't know how to use one, not too good
with stuff like that. I think all you, at HGTV are AWESOME….watch all the time. My daughter (Julie Aird),
lives in Fraser, Michigan, and it would be ABSOLUTELY A FANTASTIC MAKEOVER, for them, and I thank you, in advance, for you kind consideration. Caroleann Modrzejewski (Mom)

My daughter, Chaundra, was so good to her Mama. . .Agreeing to film and send in a short video of my weed-infested backyard. There with me, three of my six grandchildren. The kids Dad died about 2 years ago, which was a big loss for everyone concerned. Even though we all have our seperate lives, and full time jobs, we are currently trying to start a family business together. We have little to no time, not to mention lack of funds to even think about trying to do something with my backyard. It would mean the world to me to have an area to meet with the "entire" family and enjoy life! Check out the video! Please help us get HGTV'D!

  48. Janet Sciulli says:

Would love to have an expert help us with renovations to our house. My husband is a disabled veteran who has
ALS. We need to convert a portion of the house so he can get around in his wheel chair and be part of the family. He is currently livining in the basement of a split level home. Getting in and out of the house is becoming a real problem.. and his ability to go outside and sit or take photos is becoming more difficult. We need a bath with a roll in shower as he is unable to get in or out of a tub. Would anyone take on this challenge? Thanks

What happened to David's ex-show family, Danielle and Ian? I miss that show – don't find reason for the new girls on Miami version – what do they add? I guess David just missed Miami but I really enjoyed the old format more.
