When I think about colorful homes, I immediately think about one of my favorite interior designers — Jonathan Adler. He has a penchant for working with color and pattern. And he’s known for creating bright, bold and happy spaces. Thus his brand, his design style: Happy Chic. As I just finished reading his book Happy Chic Colors, I thought an Adler home tour would be a cheerful way to start off the work week.

This New York residence designed by the Jonathan Adler Design Firm is a perfect example of colorful sophistication. Bright tones are used throughout the space in a way that’s light and fun without being overwhelming.

Cool colors like blue and purple lift this otherwise neutral dining room. I am in love with the deep purple rug. It reminds me of these gorgeous rugs from ABC Carpet & Home‘s Color Reform collection.

Jonathan is also a master at mixing color and pattern beautifully. The modern stripes are mod and very on-trend in a color palette of yellow and gray.

In in this home, color can be found in the most unexpected places, like this small powder room. Pale pink wallpaper with coral flowers is such a pretty surprise.

That bathroom is precious! I've been toying with the idea of putting coffee table books on my dining table. I thought I was being original. Should've known Adler had beat me to it!

In my opinion, that is one ugly, 1970's throwback, bathroom! The other rooms are nice, though. In my opinion.
