We all know that colorful decor can make an significant impact in spaces like the living room, kitchen and bedroom. But what about bright, bold hues in a white bathroom?

House to Home :: Photographer Nick Pope
Rainbow-inspired decor, from the elegant chandelier to the striped basket and towel, brightens up this neutral bathroom from House to Home. While not a French empire-style chandelier like the one featured in this space, Urban Outfitters‘ candelabra-style Gypsy Chandelier is equally fun and decadent with its multi-colored acrylic jewels. And at $159, it’s a steal.

We Heart It
If you’d like your bathroom to feel light, airy and glamorous, take a cue from this chic space tagged on We Heart It. Here are some tips for creating this look on a budget. Skip the mosaic tiles and instead paint a white wall with horizontal stripes in a silver metallic or pearlescent finish. Z Gallerie’s Devon Mirror is similar in style to the one here. Then splurge on a Tolix Marais Armchair from Design Within Reach for a glitzy pop of color.

House to Home
A colorful screen may be the only pop of color you need in the bath. This pierced-rubber divider in a floral pattern serves as a striking focal point and effectively separates the bedroom from the bath. Create a similar effect by hanging The Beat Shower Curtain from my AphroChic collection. Or Pier 1′s Sari Screen can create the same effect with a global twist.
If you’re craving even more color, but still want a bathroom with plenty of bright whites…

theLENNOXX :: Photographer Dan Duchars
…why not wallpaper the bathroom. This teal flocked wallpaper featured in theLENNOXX definitely makes an impact. And the pattern on the wall works perfectly with the pattern in the reversible bath mat from The Koko Company. It’s a cheery, whimsical look that’s not over the top because of the prominent design elements in crisp white that take center stage — the mantel and the clawfoot tub. If you’re nervous about wallpaper, consider stenciling a wall to similar affect. And now that it’s summer, French bistro chairs like the one here should be an easy find at flea markets and antique stores.

Can I steal the bathtub and white shutters from the first photo?! GORGEOUS!
I'm in love with the first bathroom, from basket to chandelier. (sigh) Someday when we put in our second bath, I want it to look just like it.
I love having a blank white "canvas" as a room and having the accessories speak. Their bright, bold colors become more amplified and make a statement.
I've got to get a screen grab of the clawfoot tub in the movie In America. If I remember correctly, Samantha Morton's character stencils it with unusual colors in a funky pattern.
In order to copy your ideas, I'd have to start out with an exquisitely designed bathroom with a claw foot tub in front of a fireplace. (And don't forget the spike heels). Who are you suppose to be talking to?
Our 2 bathrooms are completely tiled in white, including the walls. Reason to do this was that we can change the color according to the changes thru the years. The guess bath is now based of last year orange colors. The suite has dark cabinets (mainle and antike cabinet adapted) and pale blue curtains with a touch of redish accesories. We have owned several homes in our 50 years of marriage and have learned that colors changes every so often and you should have a base color easy to adapt to the new colors.
I AGREE WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO COST A MILLION DOLLARS TO REDO CAN YOU PLEASE POST ROOMS THAT PEOPLE IN TODAY'S WORLD OF MAKING EVERY DIME COUNT CAN AFFORD TO DO THANK YOU
I have to have the multi colored chandalier!! I checked out Urban Outfitters as recommended, but where can I get the exact same fixture? It would be perfect in my dining area!!!
Yes so us folks that dont have a million less even 500.00 what about us. U would have so many more readers if you could decorate on a budget
Shopping is an art. It requires patience and diligence. For instance, in bathroom #2, you can find everything except the tile and the sink at Home Goods, TJ Maxx or Marshall's on any given day. Nothing is there everyday, all of the time. You have to check them often. The tile is at Home Depot and Loews all the time. And the sink may be there too but if not they'll have something comparable.
Also, sometimes you can't afford to get it all at once. If I select an expensive tile, I'll pick up a few boxes every payday until I have all I need for the project.
Every room in my house is done exactly as I wanted. It took lots of time shopping and doing the work myself. But I saved tons of money and I love my house. I couldn't have done it without HGTV.
wow that chandelier is way too heavy…i think worst room above…do over…the second room needs a placement class….with a side order of lines r us…third room ..wowow love it wanna see more..and last is so cozy..very nice
[...] I’m a fan of the simplicity and elegance of neutrals, but too much white is boring and gives me a headache. So many people I know just stick with the eggshell walls and white fixtures in their powder rooms, and it’s not at all a welcoming place for guests to be! Have you got a boring white bathroom on your hands? Check out Jeanine Hays’ tips for giving it some color: [...]
What a BEAUTIFUL bathroom. Especially the bath tub. This is a cool Bathroom Remodeling Idea.
I had to give up my huge French Ctry. home and now renting a small 3 bed. 2 bath duplex. I am getting rid of so much decor. I love color, but, everything is white (walls). The wall over the shower and tub needs some superficial work.. Can I tint plaster and do over this part of the wall? Will it hold up to moisture> Thank you , Nelda
Color adds warm to any room.
THAT chandelier in the photo is NOT the one mentioned in the article! So WHERE does one get the one shown in the photo????????????????
