I seem to always be in charge of dessert at gatherings with family and friends. I absolutely love to bake {when I’m not blogging}, especially cupcakes. Cupcakes are easy, cute and oh so popular.
My other favorite party must-have is cake pops. Bakerella made them famous and if you haven’t had one, I insist that you do soon. Even Starbucks sells them now, so you have no excuse.

A fun trend that I’m seeing these days is desserts served in mason jars. These layered cupcakes in jars were created with the 4th in mind! They are easy to transport and when you arrive at the event, top them with our free printable designs!

Speaking of desserts in jars, don’t these cheesecakes look divine? With blueberries and strawberries on top, they are the perfect red, white and blue dessert for the 4th! I must make these soon.

Looking for an element of surprise? Imagine when your party guests cut into this seemingly simple white cake, only to reveal an American flag inside. Simply amazing.

Okay, you’ll have to call in a professional for this cake…but you’ll be the talk of the town {or at least of the party} showing off a dessert like this. Isn’t it stunning? Decadent layers and detailed fondant work make this cake a perfect centerpiece to any dessert table. Also shown here are marshmallow pops, an easy alternative to cake pops. Just stick, dip and sprinkle!

With sweets like these and free downloads to decorate them, how can you not offer to bring a dessert to a 4th of July fete?
Hope your holiday is a blast and be sure to share with me how your patriotic treats turn out.

I wasn't hungry, but I am now! My sweet tooth is dying for a taste of all of these desserts (especially the cake pops, because I feel less guilty). My favorite idea is the dessert layered in mason jars – what a brilliant party favor, too! (Kim – If you go a little crazy with the baking, feel free to send any "extras" over to my place!)
Wow! I'm speechless just looking at your post today. Beautiful to say the least. Thanks bunchs for your freebies, can't wait to start planning our 4th of July celebration. May try one or two of these. Mason jars are very cute, and love the stripped cake also. Well just love them all. Thanks Kim!
these are so cute!
beautiful!
These are great! Thanks for all the inspiration
I love the mason jars. I am curious how to make them without getting icing all over the insides of the jar. What a cute idea!
Savannah @ Hammock Tracks
use a piping bag or any plastic food bag with a corner cut out. Pipe the icing on the cake layers

Click on the link under the photo. Looks like they are chocolate covered marshmallows (white chocolate?) that are dipped in sanding sugar.
Makes me wonder if it would be possible to dip a marshmallow partially in food-dye colored water to create some sort of ombre effect. Or dip it in water and then sprinkles…would they stick?
Thanks for the awesome printables! Can't wait to use them for our July 4th party!
For the chocolate dipped marshmallows, you can insert 6" lollipop sticks into the marshmallow, dip halfway into chocolate {any color}, then sprinkle with any sprinkles! Easy!
