Here at HGTV, we were sad to hear the news that ReadyMade Magazine is closing its doors. We commemorate ReadyMade for the way it helped us “rethink, reimagine and reinterpret everyday life.”

ReadyMade Magazine Issues

The simple, hip DIY magazine held a special place in our hearts. In fact, HGTV featured blogger Erin Loechner, who also freelanced for ReadyMade, said, “ReadyMade Magazine not only supported the DIY movement, but spearheaded it. I have no doubt its creativity and presence will be seen in ripples throughout the country for years to come.” With its start in 2001, the magazine was the first of its kind to focus solely on 20-something individuals interested in making everything on their own. From stamping fabric prints to spinning vinyl records, from knitting baby booties to baking 20 types of pancakes, ReadyMade was a true innovator in the DIY world. They will be missed.

In a time that, for financial reasons, I have declined to renew many of my magazine subscriptions, I wouldn't have dreamed of giving up ReadyMade. I just hate this!
