Shopping for little kids can be extremely fun. No matter how many toys they already have, they’d still love to have as many as possible. The possibilities are endless! Adults are a different animal. Often, they don’t want anything, and you’re forced to buy something utilitarian that they really need (new make-up mirror, extension chord, oil change). Instead, to keep it fun, I like to dip into my list of “life’s little luxuries” when searching for a thoughtful and appreciative gift the recipient has no idea they want. My no-fail list includes lusciously scented soy candles from local boutiques, chocolate truffles and luxurious throws.

These ultra soft, hand-loomed solid alpaca throws from the Canvas Home Store are exactly what I’m talking about. They’re probably not on someone’s birthday wish list, but they’re so luxurious, they’ll do more than just sit on the receiver’s shelf. Who wouldn’t love one of these? If that’s you, leave us a comment before 12/11c Monday, July 4 to be entered into the random drawing for one of these velvety-soft blankets.
This week’s question: What’s your go-to gift for the person who has everything? Specialty coffee from a local roaster? A comfy, luxurious throw? Rich hand cream from your favorite spa?

I usually go the gift card route if they really do have EVERYTHING.
My go to gift is either a nice wine or luxury chocolates.
What’s your go-to gift for the person who has everything? I would give a gift card to a unique restaurant, you can never go wrong with a good meal!
That would be a nice addition to our living room.
A silver picture frame is always good. Plain or elaborate, one or a group of them make a great personal gallery.
I remember I would send gifts to a millionaire – now, WHAT ON EARTH DOES HE NEED? My favorite gift was a "theme" gift. The theme was "Quiet Time in the Morning" – a package of Starbucks coffee, a daily devotional books, a CD of water/nature sounds. Plus (not really theme related) a CD from the time period he attended college.
I love giving photo albums
even to people who have everything…everyone always makes new memories and has pictures of them, so having a nice photo album gives them a place to put them all
Go to gift is a Scentsy fragance item. I've just discovered these. Or, a scent diffuser with all natural oils.
My parents have everything so we buy them wine.
What to give a person who has everything is a visa gift card. The card doesn't have to be for a lot of $$ either. One never knows when they can end in some sort of fix!
Tickets to a fun event!
Good chocolates. Some lovely truffles or chocolate covered cherries…..yum!
I listen for little clues in my friends daily conversation. For example, a friend commented on how her plants near the front steps were doing so poorly. I recognized those were more shade loving. One day I popped up with a basket of sun loving perennials, and with some good tunes, iced tea, and wacky conversation, we transformed her troubled area with her favorite colors. We even transfered the shade loving plants into basket, which now sits on her porch. I think she loved knowing that she had a friend who who listens, and cared enough to get "down in the dirt" and make it fun.
My go to gift is a box of spices from Penzeys local store based upon the recipient's likes (baking, BBQ, curries etc).
Wine and/or chocolate

Artwork from Etsy! There is always something unique for people of all styles.
I like to give German sauces or condiments. I like to share what I grew up with. It is a little piece of Germany in the U.S.
gift cards for those who have everything
my personal dream of owning operating and living with my own alpacas and own my very own alpaca farm are out of reach…for the next decade or two. t. However I could dream while being cozy with the alpaca blanket and appreciate the wonders of leading the alpaca- farm -lifestyle….ahhh to dream…its a good place to be.
Since we are such a foodie town here in Portland, OR, I usually buy a locally produced item such as goat cheese from a boutique farm, lavender vinegar from the vinegar lady or extraordinary jams and jellies from the Hood River area. Love that cozy looking alpaca blanket!
Oops! here's my email to go with prior message
A HOMEMADE MEAL TAILORED TO EACH INDIVIDUAL'S LIKES OR MEDICAL LIMITATIONS. ! THEN DEPENDING ON THAT'S PERSON'S CIRCUMSTANCES……EITHER MY COMPANY IF WANTED…..OR A GOOD MUSIC CD AND/OR VIDEO TO ENTERTAIN THEM WHILE ENJOYING THEIR MEAL..
We all know people who have "everything" , so what to get? I love putting a great gift card together with the gift of my time…that is, I will give of my time by baby sitting, helping in the garden, taking them to an unusual out of the way boutique or antique store, giving swimming lessions or just helping refinish an old table!
I will make a specialty dessert-one that is their favorite…my standby gift is a New York cheese cake, made in their favorite flavor. If I don't know their fav flav, I top it with fresh friut or make a berry puree topping.
Wine or whiskey if the friend is a drinker (and most of mine are). Or, a great book that I read and loved that I know they'd love too. And, as much as I hate to say it – these days iTunes gift cards always go over well no matter what age group now between music, apps, movies, and TV shows!
You can't go wrong with a bag or two of starbucks coffee!
everyone enjoys a nice cup of joe once in a while if not everyday!!
A bottle of wine or some coffee.
Since it's summer, although that's debatable in the Northwest this year, I love bringing fresh fruit or flowers as a gift.
A gift certificate to a great restaurant. Everyone deserves a night out even if you have everything!!
Love the throws, it would be great to snuggle with the children in front of the fireplace. Happy fourth of July everyone!!
Fine Crystal is one of my favorite gifts to give….something heart shaped for engagements or anniversaries…wine goblets if they are into wine….candle holders for other occasions ..and in a pretty bag or box….it's all about the presentation!:)
