There are certain colors that pack more than visual appeal. They also evoke powerfully strong (and hopefully positive) sense memories that further our desire to include that color in our home. Some hues easily achieve this status because they also connect to a readily identifiable taste or scent. Others because they are associated with life events. We think you’ll agree, our July Color of the Month makes for a delicious and refreshing experience, whether you taste it, drink it, smell it or simply lay eyes on it. Check out our favorite indoor and outdoor decor finds that sport this color (it’s July, after all!), plus three inspirational rooms. Then let us know, what happy memory does this hue bring up for you, and how do you (or will you) incorporate it in your home? I’ve included my answers in the comments at the end. We hope you will, too!

That lime and purple Amanda Nisbet room is out of this world!
would love to know where to get those products… LOVE this room!!!
I love this too, it's gorgeous.
For me, lime is a trip to Key West and the first time I enjoyed frozen key lime pie covered in chocolate shell. It's limeade from Bill's Barbecue in Richmond, Virginia, a summer drink my mother always raves about. It makes for a perfect scented candle or shower gel in July. Amanda Nesbit's lavender and lime bedroom is a favorite, gorgeous!
That sounds absolutely delightful! I'm reminded of a favorite lime green sweater I used to wear over my school uniform. It was my attempt at brightening up the old khakis and oxford.
You're right – - lime green should be kept as a dessert or a drink.
Anna! Lime is a classic summer refresher. I've used natural lime green (sweet potato vine) to add color to the stoop of my brownstone. It's hard to believe a plant can be that electric in color — it does the trick!
Oh yes, sweet potato vine is a fabulous container gardening plant and such a perfect lime! Now that my snap dragons and pansies have wilted in the July heat, I will have to replant with your suggestion!

Lime, oh lime…how I love you so! I love that chevron vase and the Oilo nursery!
Studies are somethings so drab and boring but mine is painted lime above the 3/4 height judge's paneling. Love the punch of color!
Oh, a study is a perfect place for lime! Love it with brown leather bound books. Reading is such a pleasure, why make a room dedicated to it dreary.
I am loving lime right now – it has such a zing, doesn't it? You inspired me to put together a handful of lime green artwork: http://www.artworknetwork.com/blog.php
Very cool! "Green Branches" and "Stone Study" are intriguing.
I have noticed alot of designs in your color of the month. It really sets a lite and energetic feeling. It's perfect for the summer, not a hot color, but an energizing color.
reminds me of retro green, love it
I have never been a huge fan of this color when decorating but I LOVE this! Especially love the lime hallway with the chandelier and the dining room table with the Melody chairs! so chic!
As your pictures show, you can bring Lyme in your decor in many ways not just on walls and it is an exciting color for a change. I say go for the challenge and have fun with it.
I just painted a demilune table lime green yesterday and then i read this today!! It is awesome. Lime always add a bit a punch and it will look awesome in my display of black and silver furnture!!
would LOVE to see a pic.
Great color for fruit, and occasional splashes of color, can't imagine living with it, but the pics show it tastefully and beautifully used. I, too, liked the lavender and lime bedroom.
I am using lime as an accent color in my kitchen and family room (open floor plan)….against "sand" colored walls. It is such a fresh and energizing color….love it! I love these pictures….esp the aubergine and lime room. I am sitting on my lime colored leather chair at my espresso colored desk.
I am using Lime to accent with dark brown wicker furniture on our new deck we built! Love it…it makes everything "POP" !!!
if people would make it look like the photo shown I would love it… but most are too tacky to do so.
That colors not for me! Pretty but no!
Would not work in the Southwest.
I disagree I live in the southwest and I think having some green indoors is great. These colors were in my room when I was in high school (well it was lime, orange and yellow) I do interior design work in southern AZ and I love to do what is not always expected.
Love, love, love lime! It will look wonderful with my pumpkin cabinets.
Lime was used in my 1968 wedding.Lime bridesmaid dresses and lime and white
Carnation bouquets also 1973 color of my Childs room and carpet .Have been glad to see its comeback the last few years. I love Lime reminds me of the Popsicles as a kid.
Adore lime! I am so into green hues right now and I find that lime can accent anything, anywhere.
Love Lime! My workshop is Lime, Grape, and Cotton Candy Pink!
I would love to see pics!
Love the rug, mirror, & crib in 2nd grouping…and ALL the outdoor selections! Lime can be taken anywhere from cottage-y to sophisticated. I like my subtle mosses for relaxation, but lime is fun & energizing.
NATURE PROVIDES GUIDELINES AS TO THE COLORS SEASON.-
THE DIFFERENT SHADES OF GREEN PLANS.
THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT COLORS IN THE FLOWERS.
THE FORCE WITH WHICH THE SUN REFLECTS THE BLUE OF THE SEA,
THE JOY AND EVEN THE FLUTTER OF BIRDS FLYING FROM FLOWER TO FLOWER,
DESIGN INSPIRATION THIS SEASON.
What great ideas! My kitchen has a lot of red, and I think the right shade of lime on the backsplash and around the windows would be perfect! Right now it's just off white. Can't wait to try it!
Hi! Depending on what shade of red (warm vs.cool) I think adding just splashes of lime would greatly enhance your kitchen
Try adding a sweet potato plant, a picture here or there with lime colors, or even a family pic with a lime matte or frame would be cute. I love decorating and have a vivid, creative mind…hope u don't mind my input
I have spring green on the wall in my kitchen against cherry cabinets, really make 'em pop! The accents are red an it's terrific!
EEK! Try a panel of the lime you think you might like == then wait a few weeks! If it's still attractive to you, consider the resale value of a home with a lime backsplash and woodwork in the red and white kitchen == if you still think it's great, go ahead and do it! I'd suggest you just replace the red with lime and come up with a cool simple update. You'll probably have some $$ left for a few of the lime accessories in the promo piece.
I LOVE IT! So soothing and tranquil and yet energizing at the same time.
I like some hues of green not strong or right lime green. soft green. Some items I like and do not like, depending on hues of green
EWWWW!!! UGLY
my favorite color for all seasons. I would like to see a restaurant with that Melrose seating. it is awesome.
Recently painted my Great Room lime with chocolate and orange accents. LOOKS AWESOME!
I've been using greens a lot lately and can't seem to stay away from them. Green is one of my favorites to use in interior spaces! I find these light, airy, bright greens refreshing (as others have similarly mentioned). Infusing some of the "outdoors" with your interior space creates a sense of harmony and balance.
I've been using Lime and Red since I redecorated in 2006 and love it still. It's in my LR and Kitchen and bath.
I love the lime green. I have it as an accent color in my kitchen, livingroom and bedroom.
Just bought new bedding in lime and chocolate. My room looks like an " Andes Mint " ! Yum!!
What a perfect color for summer! I love that bohemian living room with the pops of electric blue against the lime green.
Loving the lime, turquoise blue & whites mixed together
Makes for a happy palette for me…reminds me of summer all year long….matter of fact, my current home is filled with these colors esp. in my kitchen/breakfast rooms, great room, main bath & computer room…..it can be both tranquil and energizing depending on your individual tastes and decorating choices…..(the lavender gives me a new idea, lol)
Thumbs up! I love the bright colors they bring sunshine to the room and remind me of vacation and the beach .
Another lime lover here! Redecorated a couple of years ago trying to merge traditional Queen Anne furniture into a Island Colonial style because I downsized from a stately home into a modern patio home so I don't want my condo to be so serious. Lots of dark furniture, black leather and leopard print with white carpeting and Irish Cream walls. This lime green really perks things up for summer. I'm using lime green candles in the living room and a lime green throw blanket on my bed. I have lots of potted palms and dracena. Also lots of brass and gold tones in mirrors, lamps, window scarf holders and door handles. Then I flip out the lime in the winter and use deep wine or burgundy as accents. Anybody out there using the Island Colonial/British Colonial style of decorating? I have a huge ornate mirror over my mantle and candles on the mantle but I'm looking for mantle ideas.
Anything nature/explorer related fits well into a British Colonial decor ( think Darwin). Early drawings of plants, butterflies, birds, sea shells (or in the latter case, the real thing!). Tobacco or tea boxes. Old framed maps. Chinese temple jars and African masks. Happy decorating!
I love lime and have a softly lime-colored microsuede sofa in my FR, with tangerine walls, lime green accents on the mantle and white wood-work. Refreshing, uplifting, yet still traditional with dark floors and cabinets.
Thanks, Silvia. Not much into the jungle/African mask thing…I'm going for more of a Tommy Bahama feel. I'm just not getting my mantle or coffee table looking the way I want. My mantle ledge is narrow because of a huge mirror that goes from mantle ledge to ceiling. My coffee table is oval, glass with an antique brass base. I'm displaying shells in a vase and a big coral on the TV. Could move the coral back to the coffee table and think of something else for the TV. I tried a tray with candles and shells but I'm not getting it to look right. I just have to keep playing, I guess!

40 years ago July 3, 1971, new hubby and I drove away from our evening wedding reception in his lime green '63 Chevy convertible!! Wish we had that car today as we are still celebrating our anniversary like the old days!!
I've never been a huge fan of lime, but certainly reminds me of summer. I would marry it with decor accents that are too costly, but would certainly use it in a backyard picnic or barbeque with napkins, plates of some sort.
Green is my favorite color and lime my favorite shade in decorating. I absolutely love the entryway, though I see how it could be a bit much for some.
My current crush is Sherwin-Williams Springtime 6708. I used this in my guest room that doubles as my studio/craft room. It varies between warm and cool depending on the light and is cheerful without being overwhelming in a 10 X 12 space. Thanks for the ideas!
Featured colors are trendy and lack year round appeal for those folks who need a background palette that stays, with splashes of color indicating changing seasons.
I have an all white living room and accented with lime in pillows, ceramics and flowers. My furniture(tables) are dark brown. Everyone who comes in and see's it says it really pops. I did this last year and also did my Christmas tree with these accents. I will be adding a bright aqua to updated this year. Love doing white and changing my accents. All my picture frames are all black. I seem to add this wonderful color to my summer wardrobe and can't tell you how up liftting it makes you feel.
I like they Lime is used. I used to live in the Keys so Key lime is promanent so is white and aqua
I love lime! Redecorated my mother's guest bedroom that had aqua blue walls. I bought some lime spray paint and used it to paint a 1950s mid-century modern swivel dining chair, a 1930s wooden plant stand (was my Grandmother's), and a 1980s small metal bookshelf. These items looked great in the room with its blue walls and a bedside rug in lime, aqua, and purple. Lime goes with so many other colors–great choice.
I can appreciate lime as an accent color. It's refreshing and lively. I most like it in outdoor rooms and sun porches. I appreciate the blending from nature over into a sunny room – it's an easy transition for the eye to follow and enjoy.
An artist friend convinced me last summer to paint the plywood paneling in my 1969 Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architect-designed house a light lime green. It brings the color of the oak leaves inside, but subtly and very beautifully.
Painted my wood Adrandkic chairs bright lime green (3 ) with pillows of cream background w lime leaves and lime and black flowers hot nights
LOve it!! Love the Bohemian Room!!! It"s Awesome! What better time of year to use Lime Its fresh and cool and it make you Happy!!
My granddaughter and I both really LOVE the lime green color for just about anything! She redid her bedroom in lime, and I'm making lime green cushions for my Mom's outdoor furniture. I also have my eye on a new lime green car! Can't get enough lime green in my life! YES to lime!!
Before I viewed I thought that I would dislike it; however, after viewing I "like" it ! Alive and vivrant ! I even like the foyer but don't think I would choose that personally. I Love all the rest though! Like it with the blues and the lavender, (purples). It is refreshing!
