While perusing fresh lacinato kale, heirloom tomatoes, raw honey and summer squash at my local farmer’s market this weekend, I kept thinking, “This stuff is too good to be squished into a reused plastic bag from the supermarket.” I found myself longing for today’s Freebie Friday — this simple, stylish and highly functional Market & Fruit Picking Pack from Kaufmann Mercantile Store. The rattan pack’s cotton back straps and squish-free design are enough to make it a must-have for any farmer’s-market-frequenting locavore. Plus, last month style-maven Joy Cho from the Oh Joy! blog featured it as the ultimate picnic basket.

All you have to do to be entered into the random drawing for this rustic chic market basket is leave us a comment before 12/11c Monday, July 11. So easy!
This week’s question: How do you enjoy summer’s fruit and veggie harvest? Do you can the excess produce into tomato sauces or jams? Bake a ton of fruit pies and cobblers? Enjoy everything fresh and raw?

That is a fabulous basket!
D all of the above.
I'll also be adding one more to the list. This year I will be using some of my produce to prepare and freeze homemade babyfood in anticipation of my baby's transition to solids. I love summer because you have so many delicious options! And that basket would make a great carryall for the market

Speaking as the manager of a huge farmers' market, I think this basket would be a great help to people!
I use a variety of fruits in frozen yogurt pops and smoothies while using the veggies to grill or add to a light salad with seafood.

Possibilities are endless for this basket. Picking produce from the garden, using at farmers markets. etc. Loving summers canning, freezing the tomatoes and other vegtables. Pickling watermelon rind and for the first time have made watermelon jelly. Must say not bad.

I saw a recipe on Paula Deen for Green Tomato cake. Ever since then it's been my favorite way to use green tomatoes.
I have been known to freeze and pickle the veggies and make preserves from all the fruit, but the best thing about fresh fruits and veggies is to eat them while they are fresh.
This basket is unbelivable! It would be great to use in the garden while picking veggies or picking fruit and fantatic to take to the farmers market or to a picnic!
It would make a great picnik basket!
I would love to win this basket. I need in my own garden to collect veggies.
Fresh & raw! Nothing beats tomatoes, peas, corn, raspberries (and everything!) with the taste of the sun still in them.
I travel with my job and try to hit local farmer's markets for my groceries. I live in an RV while on the road, so I don't have alot of space. That basket would be perfect!

As much as we can, we work the fresh veggies into all our meals. Anything extra from our garden is shared with friends and family
Well this should would beat my plastic bag from Wal-Mart. Would make a great addition to put my fruits & vegs in. Also, great piece to hand down to my daughter – hope to get a chance to do this keeping my fingers crossed,

My daughter has just moved into her first apartment home. This would be a wonderful "housewarming" gift for her new home. She loves rustic and natural looking things. Beautiful!
I love fresh fruit and vegetables! I eat them raw for the most part, but I do like to experiment with new recipes, especially with zucchini, as I always have an over abundance of them. I also LOVE to share my veggies with family friends and neighbors!
Gorgeous basket with a multitude of uses year round.
I love this tote. Ideal for taking to the market OR just leaving out in the room as a decorative item of interest.
I love the color and its simple style!
Simple style, easy to fill and good looking too! Would look nice at the local farmers market or on my bike too! Reminds me of summer but could be used all year as a decorative basket around the house. Hope I WIN it!
I love fresh fruit in my smoothies. Also, nothing is better than grilling fresh vegetables like corn and red peppers straight from the farmer's market.
I think this basket would be great in the garden for flowers or tomatoes. I love to wash off fresh veggies outside and try everything before bringing to the kitchen.
I have seen these before, but never could find one. I have 2 granddaughters who love to walk. We would make good use of this basket for our trips away from home.
I like to serve "veggie dinners" with our local favorites – roasted sqash and asparagus wraps, watermelon, fresh corn on the cob and boiled peanuts!
I love going to the farmers market and the basket would be perfect for that. I look for heirloom tomotoes, zucchini flowers, and whatever fresh cheeses I could find. Love, when the figs are in season to serve with cured Italian meats.
Absolutely love this basket. So many uses – the pool or lake, farmers market, day hikes, camping, tailgating, the kids ballgames and just anything else.
I just have to have this.
Love that basket………. It would great for those early moring trips to the farmers market here in Arkansas.
Love the basket and love freebies @ Freebie Fridays: Farmer’s Market Basket From Kaufmann Mercantile
we have had a garden for years with the usual basil, peppers, thyme, parsley and tomatoes. Love to go to the garden to get what I need for a meal. Last year I took a canning class so I could start canning tomato sauce. It was the best sauce I ever had. I made about 8 jars last year and plan to make a lot more this year. My husband cans his peppers and we freeze the basil so we have some over the winter.
Nothing better than fresh picked tomatoes with just a sprinkle of salt to bring out their sweetness!
This basket wouild be perfect to take to the farmers market to carry ingredience for a delicious salad. With 3 grown sons and a husband, I would need a uhaul for everything else!!!!
We are growing only tomatoes & herbs this year – most will be used in fresh cooking. But I hope I have time to make sauce & salsa to freeze. I love my fresh tomatoes straight out of the garden.
