When Ken and I first moved into our humble Indiana home, we knew we were in it for the long haul. After all, one of the spare bedrooms looked like this:

Guest Bedroom Before - Erin Loechner

We liked to call it our “den of dismay”. It smelled of depression and was far from guest-worthy, yet we knew it wouldn’t be much of a priority until move in day. Thus, a year later, we just recently decided to tackle the project. Our plans were to brighten the space with plenty of white paint, monochromatic art and simple bedding. Fortunately, we had a lot of the pieces on hand and opted to keep the space relatively inexpensive. Ready for the reveal?

Guest Bedroom After - Erin Loechner

Highly guest-worthy!

We’re thrilled with the result (don’t you love those pillows and the art?) and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests into the (almost) finished space! Of course, there are a few things left to do: install closet doors, a lighting solution, additional window treatments and a few personal touches, but we’re thrilled with any progress we can get.

Black & white is très chic! Reminds me of the elegant decor in Black Swan.
