The tagline for these wooden Laguna bathtubs should be: “Soak in some natural beauty while you soak in the bath.” Worried about the logistics? The tubs are made from highly-compressed wood that’s been saturated with resin, so you don’t have to fear water damage or, ah, splinters in your delicate bits. And sailing enthusiasts, take note! These tubs are crafted by experienced yacht builders, which gives them that same feeling of luxury and class.

The rich color adds warmth to any bathroom, and the sleek, sculptural form reminds me of something you might see in the Wharton Esherick Museum. Bath in Wood of Maine also makes some elegant free-standing double wooden tubs that would be perfect for couples. Timber for two, please!

What an amazing tub! Glad to read that it is splinter proof. OUCH! Now if I only had a bigger bathroom. Beautiful photo! I can always find amazing, beautiful things on your blog! Thank you!

That tub takes my breath away. With the slim gray tiles…simply gorgeous!

All I can say is WOW! Sleek and refined just gorgeous

The tub is my favorite color of wood, classic beautiful grain lines like yesteryear. At least it appears on my screen as well oiled reddish brown tones.

I can see the cost of something as beautiful as this only if it can holdup with use? Otherwise, it can look beautiful, but I would not use…what would be the point then?

Warranty that guarantees this look, use, and use of it to substantiate cost like for this designer tub.

Breathtaking…but I'm afraid my cats would use it as a giant scratching post!

Ha!…they say on their site, "The extremely resistant special varnish has been tested under the hardest conditions." I wonder if that includes cats?

I love these! Any possibility of fittings for jacuzzi jets? Am beginning the process of remodeling my master bath and would like to keep the jacuzzi feature if possible.

Karen – I would look at the websites for both Laguna Bath and for Bath in Wood of Maine. See if there is a style you like and then email them for information. They'll be able to give you information specific to the part of the country where you live.
