As soon as I saw this plumbing pipe wall unit on one of the photo inspiration sites I use, I thought it looked familiar. When I headed to The Brick House blog to check out the DIY instructions, it clicked.

Turns out, it was modeled after a similar unit in one of my very favorite places to stay, The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, where the industrial look of the shelves plays well against the groovy 70s California vibe they cultivate. Not only is this mod unit fetching and creative, it’s a pretty good deal considering it only cost about $200 for all the supplies! (If you like the look, but don’t have the ft² to pull this off, try this smaller DanMade bookshelf.) I think it’s high time to take a trip to Home Depot…
