You remember our laundry room, right? The second scariest room in our entire home? (Don’t worry, you’ll see the first – our sunroom – next month!)

Laundry Room Makeover- Erin Loechner

Still in progress, but a vast improvement.

Well. I’m pleased to announce that our laundry room is no longer scary. Not even a bit. And in case you need a visual reminder, here’s the before, photographed last winter:

The frightening before...

The glowing after!

It’s pretty, yes? I no longer have to worry about catching a disease when I wash my pants. Always a bonus in a laundry room, that is.

Since I last shared photos of our in-progress laundry room, Ken and I have been hard at work completing the following items on our to do list (and still have a few stragglers to attend to!):

  • Grouting our tile (we used leftover tile from our master bathroom project).
  • Painting the wood planks white, but leaving the ceiling rough and reclaimed!
  • Plumbing! I’ll let you fill in that blank.
  • Electrical work and a dimmer installation (for late night laundering, I’m sure).
  • Switch out the boring ceiling fixture with something bold and beautiful.
  • Build cabinet doors for the built-in shelving.
  • Add accessories, such as a sweet little clothes line and a quirky coat rack.
  • Install a modern utility sink (we’re thinking concrete!).

I’ll check in with you when our “to do” list is “to done”, but for now, let’s bask in the glow of sweet progress one more time!:

Wow! But really, your before pictures aren't that bad! I mean, at least whoever lived there before you actually took the time to put up drywall.

Mine, however…they stacked their washer and dryer on pallets. :-/
