With several titles up for grabs at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, etc.), I was dying to see who would walk home with an elusive MTV Moonman. It may not be an Oscar or Grammy, but that eight-pound silver award with an astronaut standing on the moon holding a flag is awesome. Modeled after astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the Moonman logo was created with the birth of MTV in 1981. Now who wouldn’t want to display that in their living room? (And then invite people over and brag about it.) Unless I suddenly wake up with transformed vocal chords or marry Usher, I probably won’t ever get to integrate a Moonman into my decor. But I can still gush over cool, geeky space-inspired decor. And that’s just what I’m going to do. Be back soon. I’m stepping off Planet Earth for a bit.

My friends and I were totally just talking about those ceiling stars last week! I think it was a decor phenomenon of kids from the 90's. But I'm trying to hold on to that awesome trend. We'll never be too old for them….or if we are, just have babies as an excuse to use them.

Wait – maybe it was you that I was talking to about the ceiling stars before you left…hmmm. I totally want to buy some now that I've moved into an apartment that thankfully doesn't have a popcorn ceiling.

Haha! You might be right. I'm still waiting to have an apartment updated enough to not have that popcorn ceiling. :)
