I don’t know what it is about that one extra day, but I just can’t sit still on a long weekend, especially Labor Day weekend. A road trip or a home improvement task or craft project that I would never consider squeezing into a normal two-day weekend now seems totally doable. This weekend my boyfriend and I are packing up the car and taking one last summer-style road trip to D.C. to visit some friends. With that being said, I’m dubbing myself an official Holiday Road Trip Warrior. (I’m really liking that road map pendant light. A lot. Perhaps I could multitask, boyfriend drives while I craft…)

As much as I would love to take a weekend getaway, I'm a weekend warrior. I've had some sort of home project every weekend these last few weeks. The long weekend will be all about getting my fall garden going.
I would give anything to be at the beach this weekend. But Holiday Weekend Warrior it is. Going to be finishing the coffered ceiling in our master bedroom. Also installing drywall and doing a patterned trim treatment on our guest bedroom ceiling. Lots of ladder work. Ugh! But it will be beautiful to look up in our house soon!
I am afraid my "to-do" list is quickly outgrowing the long weekend! Needless to say, I am sticking close to home.
The garage cleaning and reorganization of camping/canoeing gear can can wait one more weekend just before fall weather comes in. It's Labor Day Weekend. Everyone enjoy and be safe!
I'm definitely a holiday road trip warrior. I'll cram as much as I can into my week just to take that weekend trip.
It seems a lot of people chose to tackle their to-do lists this weekend. I didn't encounter hardly any holiday traffic on a 7 1/2 hour drive – can you believe it? I hope everyone finished the projects they wanted to and were able to fit in some time for relaxing, too.
Oh, and road-map pendant light didn't happen. Boyfriend napped while I drove
