Grab a blanket, dust off your binoculars and grab the kiddos because a stunning supernova will be at its brightest in the night sky tonight. At approximately 21 million light years away, this type of supernova hasn’t been this close in visibility in almost 30 years. If the Tennessee sky clears by nightfall, I’ll be joining you with a little Oasis “Champagne Supernova” playing in the background (so fitting, right?). All stellar space-ness aside, I’ve been really into architectural salvage stars ever since my Labor Day-weekend visits to Annapolis, Maryland, and D.C. Surrounded by classic American style, I got caught up in the rusticity of the heavy metal structures settled on the exteriors of old homes. And they don’t have to be on homes. I love them displayed inside homes. On sidewalks. On gates, fences, walkways, roof vents. Stars rule.

What’s your favorite way to display stars? Do you enjoy presenting them in a stunning, rustic classic American form like me? Or do you like to reserve them for whimsical nursery hues of pastel yellow?

#2 and #4 are all I want for my birthday and Christmas…for now.
These are great! I love wrought iron elements. The rustier and worn looking ones are my favorites. These stars here are beautiful. The varied designs are really cool too. I love them all. http://www.skylarkmanor.com
My thoughts exactly – the more rusty and worn, the better!
I love stars, my favorite shape to doodle, and my favorite thing to decorate with at Christmas.
All lovely picks, but number 4 is calling my name. I could even see that right over my couch…
nice.
