While most of us are just beginning to pull out our cardigans and fall layers from storage, the fashion world already has their eyes on next spring’s hottest design trends. That’s because it’s Fashion Week in New York. Starting today, Sept. 8, through Sept. 15, hundreds of the industry’s top designers will showcase their spring-summer 2012 collections. Unfortunately, my front-row tickets to the L.A.M.B. and Alice + Olivia runway shows were “lost in the mail,” so I can’t make it. So I’ll just have to make up for it by finding home decor that speaks to me and my sense of style. Why not blend who you are and how you dress right into your living room, bedroom and kitchen? Check out some of my fave designer clothing finds for fall and their inspiring interior counterparts.

My home is very eclectic and full of hand-me-downs, treasured pieces and vintage finds. My after-work, weekend wear is the same way. I like mixing jewelry, colors and adding layers.

Does your wardrobe compliment or clash with your home’s interior? Have you ever bought a blouse or dress and thought, that perfectly matches my couch?

That Charlotte Ronson/Shelly Riehl David comparison is killer! Awesome eye. I do tend to wear blue and red colors like my home decor, but if it goes both ways, I think my place is definitely lacking some stripes. Love me some stripey clothing.

I moved in to our new penthouse loft a couple of months ago. I've always wanted an all-white decor. Finally, my husband agreed to it. We have 60 feet of glass window overlooking treetops and cityscape. We sit on our white leather couch, sipping white wine at sunset. Yes, our wardrobes coordinate- white shirts and grey flannels match our grey hair. In love!

My interior decor is casual and colorful and my wardrobe is as well, although I tend to wear cottons and denim while my upholstered furniture sports leather (I do have an old leather bomber jacket!). If I had to match a fashion model to interior design to suit my style, these would do it:

    The model:

Obviously no haute couture here! ^_^

CplusE, I love that outfit! And Kayla, that L.A.M.B. dress is my pretend-red-carpet favorite, and that Emily Henderson interior is one of my all time bests! This feature is too fun.

That's a unique way to go about interior design. I guess it might be a good idea to have my conveyancers keep a lookout for houses like that.

Thanks for giving me a very good idea. I guess if I'm going to move into a bungalow in singapore, I might as well do it in style.
