Growing up in Atlanta, I visited many a home with a gorgeously appointed sitting room or parlor that exuded that quintessential Southern charm. My friend’s moms were lovely hostesses who always produced a glass filled with sweet tea or ice-cold Coca-Cola within minutes of a guest’s arrival. Conversation flowed effortlessly in these intimate spaces beautifully lit by a perfect set of table lamps. (I can practically feel my Southern accent coming back just remembering those times.) Listen y’all, we all know good lighting can make or break a room. And that a table lamp is one of the easiest ways to update the look of a space. I think table lamps give off the perfect warm glow to a room, and there should be several in each room. I read a lot and usually have either three way bulbs in them, or they are on dimmers, so that while I am reading , other lamps are on in the room on a low wattage for ambiance.
I love the way a pretty lamp sets the mood for an entire room. The butterfly lamp featured as a prize would definitely set a gorgeous mood in my dining room.

table lamps are more than functional. they can be an inexpensive art piece that adds interests to a room. and the lighting is much more pleasing than overhead lighting which can be harsh.
Where I live, during the summer you HAVE to keep the windows covered to attempt a cool house (temperature wise I mean) which doesn't allow the beautiful natural sunlight in. the overhead light from the ceiling fan just doesn't cut it, so the the next natural solution is lamps. So, being the necessity that they are, why not let them bring light AND beauty to the room?
We lived in Atlanta for the first 6 years of our marriage. A beutiful city, exuding charm and style. I wish I had taken more decorating notes! Your lamps are beautiful and I woud love to have them in my home!
I am all of the above; mood lighting is right up my alley, I love great lamps that create cozy corners to read in and of course, they just tie the room together so wonderfully.
Lamps create an ambiance that overhead lighting just can't. I have a thing about lighting and lamps in particular that I have passed on to my daughter and granddaughter. Recently, we were having guests for a birthday celebration, and my four year old granddaughter surprised us all when we realized she had begun turning on the lamps in the bathrooms and living room!
I had been painting four bedrooms, those color are dark such like Macron, pine green, medium dark blue, and taupe. The white lamp (Marianna) is prefect design on the dresser or the desk in one of the kids' bedroom along with white accents and woodwork trim. Plus It is an abstract figure and coastal looks. Rings will be fancied seeing through the color of walls. Cool Lamp!

I love these lamps because they ooze personality, and that is what I dig.
Living in the South, the Marianna would inspire me to finish up my livingroom and hopefully keep my dog off the end table. It would also help to lighten up the accessories with my otherwise "darker" furnishings. I'm so ready to get my house in order!
I can trace the course of my life thru the lamps I have loved. As a child I had a small glass hurricane lamp with pink roses. The bottom globe had its own soft light and cast a magical light in my bedroom. As a newly- wed, I favored the highly romantic and extremely fussy victorian style. Incredulous that I loved it so, a friend gave me a family heirloom, her so called "funeral parlour" torchiere, elegant in silver plate and cut glass. Along came the children, the dog, the career, and I looked for simplicity, finding a pair of distressed white wood table lamps with handmade paper shades that glowed with imbedded botanicals. And now…….I am an empty-nester. Could "Marianna", a classic take on modernism with it's crisp white geometric forms, be my next luminary love affair?
I have just happened upon this page, and have fallen in love with the Botanical lamp shown on the left. It has tickled my fancy — which surprises me because I tend to go for solid color lamps in a classical style. I had to, of course, go check out the website and all I can say is Wow! I now know where to go to look for lamps and am dreaming of new lamps to spice up my house. I would love the chance to win a new one for sure — and will dream of Botanical lamps as I redecorate my house in my dreams tonight!!:D
Table lamps really add a warm touch to a space. I was never big on table lamps, even growing up we had a lot of overhead and floor lamps (remember those halogen lamps)..but my mother in law showed me why table lamps are the better choice. We only have two right now and they are kind of plain. But my mother in law changes out the lamps shade to vary the color of the room to fit her moods. It just makes a room so much more cozy. I hope to win one of these for my living room…my wife love the garden lamp

Table lamps can be moved around the house to create a new look in more than one room. They can offer a contrast to your decorating style to add interest to a room and/or create a balance in the room. All three lamps are beautiful. The design on the Botanical Garden lamp, the contemporary base on the Marianna lamp, and the contrast between the shade and the base on the Babcock lamp make all three lamps appealing to me. I love a great table lamp because I was also raised in the South and light in a room are important!!! Sets the mood, makes it light enough without washing everything out and makes me soooo happy. Getting ready to set up my new home when my house sells. Getting divorced and going with a ME style in every room!!!
I like unique items, I don't want something that everyone else has. Besides the design how well will it fit and light the area. I have always been a fan of the table lamp. I think that comes from my mom when growing up. We always had table lamps!

There's nothing like the perfect lamp to make a room feel complete! Sometimes, you can change the whole feel of a room by exchanging one lamp for another. A good reading nook with a beautiful lamp is one of my favorite places to be! But none of those nasty, migraine-inducing, mercury-filled cfl light bulbs; instead, a wonderful incandescent to give off the perfect lighting and color.

I put table lamps everywhere I can. I always have a lamp or two in my kitchen, specifically on top of the refrigerator and either on the counter next to the sink or on my work island. A lamp on a chest or side table in an otherwise forgotten spot in a hallway is always soothing and comforting. I adore a lamp on a desk or a library table next to my stacks of favorite books. A well chosen table lamp has the potential of being a work of art that not only lights it's space but illuminates it's own beauty.

I love a table lamp because it takes me back to my childhool — sleeping over my grandmother when i was a little kid. We used to curl up on the sofa together and she'd read me my favorite books or do needlepoint with me to the light of her pretty table lamps.

Lamps can be a primary focal point of the room if selected carefully. Most of my clients tend to have lamps that are too small for the space!!
I've always been a sucker for a good lamp. It can tell you at a glance about a person's style. It can add a splash of color and personality to a room. Even the Marianna, although devoid of color, has a bit of a romantic modern personality with it's corset-esque shade and circle motif. That fits me to a T!
