Can you believe that the days are already getting shorter? Fall has arrived and with it all of the beautiful things about this season — cooler days, longer nights and more time spent cozying up at home. It’s blanket time again! My favorite home accessory to buy this time of year is a colorful new throw to brighten up my space. A few of my favorite stores have just the thing — unique throws that are great for snuggling and adding warm color and texture at home.

Stripes are still in, and Dwell Studio’s Draper Stripe Throws are a classic. They are made with alpaca and are sure to be super-soft.

West Elm’s Kantha Quilted Throw is absolutely gorgeous. Made from recycled saris, pieces are stitched together to create one-of-a-kind intricate designs. Each one would be a colorful addition to a bed or even a wall for some added warmth at home.

Pottery Barn also has a collection of Indian Kantha Throws. In more sophisticated shades of black, orange and cream, these layered found pieces can add a global touch at home.

There are also some beautiful organic throws out there, like this Andes Organic Throw. In pale shades of ivory, birch, charcoal or sage, the beauty of this throw is in its natural materials.

And for a big dose of color for when the days get shorter, check out Anthropologie’s Sari Throw. It’s woven from the deconstructed strands of recycled saris. The vibrant rainbow hues are sure to brighten your days indoors.

I hope you’re as excited about the change of seasons as I am. It’s definitely one of my favorite times of the year. So, have you already pulled out your fall throws and blankets? Or are you on the hunt for something new?

  1. I love throws to add additional color and especially love using them during the cooler months, but have to admit my lust for the two vintage chairs in the second photograph! :p

I can't believe that their are not any Kennebunk throws on there. They are amazing handmade throws that are soft and luxurious. These are still amazingly beautiful and would put any of them in my house.

I saw the West Elm throws in person, and they are simply gorgeous. Can't get enough of Indian design.
