I feel like I must have been the only kid ever to not have a pet fish. I mean, shouldn’t I have won one from a fair or carnival at some point? Anyway, this gorgeous Fishscape Fish Bowl by Aruliden has me wanting to make up for lost time.

Made in Turkey from hand-blown glass, the Fishscape is an elegant take on the classic bowl. With a 2.5 gallon capacity, and that cool underwater ridge, it’s definitely a big step up from the plastic bag you probably used to get your finned friend home.

Maybe a Beta is in your future?

This is so beautiful! I've been thinking about getting a beta, actually. They are very low maintenance and pretty, to boot.

What a beautiful bowl! I'm not sure I want to pay that much for a fish bowl, though. I have had a number of bettas (Siamese fighting fish) over the years, and have one now — they are great fish! They are hardier at low oxygen levels than other tropical fish, but still need to have their water changed regularly to keep them healthy. I have had more problems with keeping them warm enough in small bowls — we tend to keep our house cool and these fish need warm water, so they must be kept in a warm place or a heater is needed in the bowl. My best friend's little boy once picked out a betta for us — a beautiful blue one that ended up with the astonishing name "Turquoise Aquamarine Coral Reef". Such a big name for such a little fish, but it suited his big personality (and my friend's child loved it!).

Aww, no! What a sad story. But it would be so nice to have a little work buddy like that.
