Hey, wanna see me do a magic trick? I won’t even need a volunteer from the audience for this one. I call it the Silhouette Floating Lamp. First, I’m going to saw the shade off of this here table lamp, then I’m going to make it levitate in mid-air. Ready? ABRACADABRA! PRESTO CHANGE-O! A LA PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES!

TA-DA! I just blew your mind, didn’t I? Okay, I may have had a little help from my lovely assistants, designer Angela Jansen and engineer Ger Jansen of the Netherlands-based Light Light company. And the floating may have something to do with the lamp’s electromagnetic components. But you’ll have to check out these amazing demo videos to see for yourself. After all, a magician never reveals her secrets.
