I must have watched the full-length Hunger Games movie trailer about oh, twenty times since it was released on Monday, and according to Yahoo, I’m not alone: Yesterday, searches for “Hunger Games trailer” were up 3,178%! Still don’t know what The Hunger Games are? You can catch up with my previous post, or better yet, take a peek at the trailer.
The visual world is not too far from what I had pictured in my head while reading the books, and I have to say, the fashions are just as outrageous as I was hoping, too. (The all-pink Effie Trinket, as played by Elizabeth Banks, looks like a menacing piece of cotton candy.) Katniss‘s skill with her bow and arrow is what really inspired today’s delight, though.

In the character’s hands, arrows are deadly weapons, but in the hands of Stacey Foster of Verla Ivans, they’re unique accents for bookshelves, desks and coffee tables. This colorway is a little more Capitol than District 12, but still, I think the arrows are a fitting tribute to my favorite tribute. What did you think of the Hunger Games trailer? And do you think these arrows hit a decorative bulls-eye?

I cannot watch that trailer enough, I am obsessed! That said, I love the arrows, I'd been eying some vintage ones to give height to my mantle.
Ooh, mantel. I can so picture it, and it's perfect. Aaaand now I wish I had a mantel.
