I think it’s ideal to decorate for the holidays in a way that that’s still true to your personal style. If you live in a beach house or dig coastal decor, I’ve found just the thing for you!

driftwood christmas tree

This painted driftwood Christmas tree from Decor8 is the perfect marriage of organic materials and inventive design. The geometric patterns give it a casually-festive feel, and once you get materials from a craft store, it couldn’t be easier to DIY at home. After you paint the wood and let it dry, you can mount it on a board or hang on the wall as is. (Although, perhaps a starfish or sand dollar might be a more appropriate tree-topper, no?)

  2. Very cool. I was expecting something more 3-dimensional from the title of the post, but this is rather cool. Especially for those short on floor space. I was at a flea market yesterday where a guy was selling sculptural driftwood. I may have to dabble more in this arena as I'm an organic decor junkie. Imagine drilling holes vertically in the center of each piece and suspending it like a "mobile" with braided steel wire. Guess that takes it to the "3-dimensional" side. :)

Ooh, I love the mobile idea! I think that could really turn out well. Please post pics if you try it. :)

I keep coming back to look at this, I think I'm in love. Especially with the color palette!

Me too! The palette is what I tried to do on my yarn-wrapped wreath yesterday! :) So very you, dahhhling.
