It’s my birthday today. I won’t tell you how old I’m turning because I don’t want to scare/depress you, but let’s just say it’s “too many candles for a round cake.” I think next year I’ll ask to have my age “embroidered” on the cake instead.

Isn’t this a sweet and simple idea? Here, Stephanie from Clockwork Lemon (hee hee) mimicked the look of embroidery floss with colorful sprinkles in a pattern from the Polka and Bloom blog, but I think the possibilities are endless with this technique. Why fuss with rosette piping when jimmies look this good? Plus, if I use it in lieu of candles to represent my age, it could prevent a serious fire hazard.

Happy birthday, Briana! That cake is so lovely it's enough to make one look forward to birthdays again! ^_^
Aw, thanks! It was spent with good friends in sunny CA, so it was a fun day indeed. Coming home to see these lovely blog messages is the icing on my proverbial embroidery cake.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Valerie!
Isn't it original? I can't wait to try it out myself.
