One requirement that I have for New Year’s Eve is something delicious and bubbly for a midnight toast. If champagne’s a bit too spendy for you, why not try some nice prosecco or cava? (Or this pretty champagne cocktail!) If you’re the designated driver or otherwise abstain from alcohol, sparkling apple cider or ginger beer make nice alternatives. But almost as important as what you’ll be drinking is what kind of glasses you’ll be using.

These champagne glasses are all a little unusual, in the best way possible. Sure, a stemmed flute is classic, but it’s nice to add some color or facets to the crystal for interest. Some of these choices are minimalist and modern, and others (like my favorite Kate Spade bubbly daisy saucers) rely on retro charm, but they’d all be perfect clinking together to salute 2012.

Do you know where I can get the Kate Spade Daisy Saucers? They seem to be discontinued and out of stock everywhere.
