Happy Fat Tuesday! Tonight, the real Bourbon Street will be overflowing with Mardi Gras revelers hungry for beads, Hurricanes and King Cake.

But we found another place where Mardi Gras beads are commonplace: a Pennsylvania basement?! Homeowners Penny and Tony needed more than a pot of gumbo to recreate their weekends in New Orleans. They needed a 3-story, 2,000-square-foot basement replica of Bourbon Street, complete with their own bar, stage and balcony. Now, they can say “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” 365 days a year. Take a tour now:
What do you think? Would you like a built-in Bourbon Street for your very own zydeco band, or do you prefer to visit the real thing?

What a great story! Being fortunate enough to be able to build whatever they really like is kinda cool. Especially if they like to host parties, that would be a great place to have friends and family over to have a great time. I really enjoyed their home and their project. Although, I would rather go to Mardi Gras, being that I've never been there before, I would like to experience the real thing first. Kudos! Great job!
Any single contractors out there to help with my renovation project in WI? Not a Mardi Gras theme, just wood, beauty and our ideas. ; – )
I am a Nola native and would love to have a Mardi Gras themed room.
That's awesome to have Bourbon Street in your home year-round, but I'd still rather be in New Orleans.
Yeah, me too. But I admire the couple's comittment to take their idea all the way!
That's what I call commitment and passion! Imagine the parties?!!
