UPDATE: Congratulations to our giveaway winner: Isabelle S.!
It may seem a tad early to you, but behind-the-scenes at HGTV.com, we are busy working on handmade crafts for Christmas. Yes, Christmas. We’re like Santa’s helpers around here (everyone knows elves work year-round).
In prepping for our 2012 Christmas crafts, Brian Patrick Flynn created two wreaths that are going to be featured in our Handmade Holidays package this October. We have what we need for our purposes, so now YOU have the opportunity to win the original wreaths.

To enter for a chance to win both the paint chip wreath (left) and the rustic twine wreath (right), answer our question in the comments below: What holiday crafts will you attempt this year?
You may only comment once to be considered, and you don’t have to purchase anything to win; a purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Odds depend on total number of entries. Void where prohibited by law. Only open to legal residents of 50 U.S., D.C. or Puerto Rico, and you must be at least 18 years of age to win. All entries (comments) must be entered between 9:00 a.m. ET on August 22, 2012 and 5:00 p.m. ET on August 29, 2012. Subject to full official rules. I am going to attempt an Advent Calendar and making most of my Christmas Presents. thanks for the chance
I am going to try to make some of those cute Christmas trees out of yarn – they always look so easy, and I never do get around to it.
I am going to attempt to make my own fresh garland from the evergreens in my yard. I hope to make enough roping for both inside and outside my home. Wish me luck!! I also want to make holiday themed tissue flowers for my Christmas presents. This idea is still in the development stage!
I am attempting a christmas tree made of beer cans. I know it may not seem so "christmas-y" however I wanted to make something manly for my other half. I think it would be a nice touch to his man cave yet still add to the holiday spirit that will be throughout the whole house.
I am going to attempt some handmade christmas cards with my daughter this year!
I m not much of a DIYer but i can't resist myself of trying The handmade card !
I am going to make a centerpiece with glittery pine cones, ornaments and candle sticks!
I will definitely be making ornaments as i try to do every year.
Hi,

My craft for this holiday season will be glitter pine cones. I've been collecting these all year. Picking up one or maybe two at a time while on a walk, bike ride or vacationing. I'll "glitter" them, then put around the house to add some Christmas bling.
I for years have been wanting to make a personalized wreath to represent the sports teams that I love. last year I clearance shopped for all the left over stuff and found some stuff that would work great. So this year I am going to do my best to actually make it and not just go out and buy a one time use wreath like I have the past 5 years.
I am going to try to finish my father in laws Christmas stocking.
Goals for this holiday season; fruit vinegrates for neighbor gifts and that tree skirt I've been plotting for several years now.
I am going to make some ornaments!
I am new to knitting, but this year I will try to knit Christmas stockings for my two adorable grand-puppies!
I am going to make a yo-yo snowman out of white fabric. I am going to decorate the snowman with different colored fabrics for the hat and the scarf. Then I am going to attempt to make family snowmen wreaths. Each person would get a different colored hat and scarf. Some will be bigger snowmen and some will be smaller depending on if you are an adult or a child.
I would liketo make a coffee filter wreath this fall. Love your diy projects!
I am going to look for the perfect tree limb, spray paint it silver or gold, then cement it in a pot and hang some funky color lights on it. I am going to put it out on the front porch for the Holidays and hope that it snows. The lights look great at night covered in snow. Happy Holidays!
I hope to make some Christmas gifts and cards this year. We shall see.
I'm gonna make a popcorn garland
I am going to decorate brown paper bags from my groceries, food etc. into amazing gift bags. I have made my own wrapping paper and tags for years, now onto gift bags!
My daughters and I like to start with our Christmas projects as early as September
we get together on Sundays and we do table cloths tree ornaments giant candy canes
for the driveway and right after Thanksgiving we finish with our wreaths some
are made of starmints some are from little boxes with Xmas wrappings some are
more traditional but that is how I plan to start our holidays.
I am by no means a "crafty person", but I think I would like to tackle some uber neat Christmas ornaments. I have always wanted to be crafty at Christmas, but I don't have the patience.
Im going to try to make some kid-friendly ornaments
I'm going to attempt to make a shell wreath
I have started to make pop-up Christmas cards for a few special people.
We're going to try to make some ornaments that won't break when my kids pull them off the tree but still look classy. Still don't have any real ideas as to how this is going to be done…
I'm going to make some papier mache Christmas houses this year.
I don't attempt crafts since I am quite awful at them. I can barely wrap Christmas presents!
I always make a couple new ornaments every year and this year will make some out of clay to be glazed and fired at the pottery studio.
i'm making christmas cards and ornaments for my christmas tree.
I am as always making and decorating cookies. It's something it just isn't Christmas without…. but this year I'd like to do a cross stitch or two – one especially for my new grandson.
I am planning to make glitter ornaments and center pieces…with birds being the main object.
I am going to make some Christmas trees out of copper wire and some lanterns out of wine bottles.
Wow! What great wreaths; especially the paint chip wreath! It gave me an idea! I think I will make a paint chip garland with my 8-year-old granddaughter; since she is very creative.
There are vines growing on my back fence that I have to cut back every year so I make "grapevine" wreaths out of the vines. This year my daughter asked me to make her one. I'll put a Christmasy bow and ribbon on it and maybe a few sprigs of holly or berries.
Holiday centerpiece made out of dog treats.
I just got a sewing machine and I want to make holiday aprons for our cookie baking adventures!
I'm going to make Christmas Wreaths this year and I could sure use the prize to get a good start.
I am wanting to sew cloth napkins with different stamps and monograms for my family and friends! Last year I made them lovely smelling bath salts.
i am going to try making ornaments that i can write names on.
I am into knitting so I am going to try and knit these cute Christmas Balls I saw at the yarn store.
This christmas, I am going to make and decorate stockings for my whole family.

I will attempt to make a giant snowman made of cotton balls…..
I am going to attempt to make some Christmas ornaments with my three children…….something that we can remember for years to come!!!!!

I hope to make a christmas tree skirt.
I've collected alot of pinecones and will be making a wreath out of them.
