Bonfires are so fun — especially in the fall when the air is cool and crisp. And thanks to Essay Group, LLC — setting a bonfire just got a whole lot easier.
The new Light ‘n Go® log is an all-natural birch stump, kiln dried and engineered to light with one match. Just one! You can set it in a fire pit or even a fireplace. It’s portable, so take it with you on your next camping trip.

There seem to be several methods to starting a good fire. Any campers out there who want to share their best tips? Tell me in the comments below.

I'll be ordering a couple of these. Not a bad price at all.
Good logs.
This is too cool! I'll definitely be getting some for this Fall!

Really like these logs.
The Yule logs are good too.
To start a good fire when camping, take along some firestarters made before you leave! Get charcoal brickettes, a paper (empty) egg carton, some cotton batting and wax from old candles. Kids just love to make these–that's why we used them in GirlScouts. Put a small wad of cotton in an egg cup, place a piece of charcoal on top, then pour melted wax over the coal. Cool and break apart and store in plastic bag til later. When time for fire, put coal or two (or more if using for a cooking fire) on dry fire pit, light and add small twigs, then larger,, etc. til you have a fire. One note: each coal is "worth" 35 degrees of heat, so a hole with 10 coals will bake at 350 degrees.
Sue thank you so much for that tip I will be doing it exactly as you said.
My kids and I love to be outdoors and we just love bonfires and cooking so this is all great info thanks everyone.
Due to issues with theEmeraldAshBorer, firewood cannot be transported between states.
I tried to order onl line but shipping was approx $45 for three. I will not pay that for shipping. Where can I order of get this item: Light and Go Bonfire Log
These logs are not $9.29 as their website indicates–they are $15 each. Also, they are not available at HomeDepot or any grocery stores, as several articles have suggested, so if you like the item, you will likely pay more than the advertised price. If the item is that good, then it should be marketed and available competitively in the retail market.
My dad already has something similar to this patented- so where is your patent?!?!
does your dad sell these?
I got one at Albertsons
