At the virtual Pinterest party, we’ll be serving (ie: pinning) the HGTV Dream Home 2013 Signature Cocktail: The New South. Troy Ball of Troy & Sons, a North Carolina-based distillery specializing in finely made whiskeys and heirloom moonshine, commissioned John Aquino to create the cocktail. He is the mixologist at Wild Olive on Johns Island S.C. near Kiawah Island, the location of this year’s HGTV Dream Home.

The New South: Signature Cocktail for HGTV Dream Home 2013
Stir 2 oz Troy and Son’s Oak Reserve Whiskey with 1 1/2 tsp Jo Snow *Cherry & Thyme Syrup. Serve on the rocks, top with a couple splashes of soda water and garnish with an orange wedge and brandied cherries.
*To make your own Cherry & Thyme Syrup: Combine 12 oz. Black Cherry Extract (find it at your local grocery or health food store) and a handful of thyme in 6 oz. of water. Heat to steep for about an hour, then strain and chill.
John recommends infusing the bottle of Troy and Son’s Reserve with one medium orange peel (no pith); after 2 days, remove peel and keep in cool area

The house is beautiful. I could see myself with my coffee, relaxing and enjoying the priceless view.
I used to live in the Charleston area. It has special memories for us. This would be a dream retirement home for us. My spouse is retiring after 33 yrs of military service. I love the home and how green it is. I will be entering but God is driving this one since he has picked out our previous homes. We are leaving it in his hands. The home and all the previous dream homes are blessings. Thanks to all for your hard work.
I love this house it looks great. Only one problem it only has one bathtub? The kids have to come in the masterbath to take a bath? That would be a downer!!
Oh my gosh, I absolutely love this house! I'm only 13 (yeah, I know I'm too young to enter) but this house looks like a perfect place to vacation! My parents went on their honeymoon to South Carolina and have been trying to go back with our family ever since but we can never find the time or a good place to stay, and this would be the perfect opportunity!

This dream home is environmentally wise, naturally beautiful inside and outside. The deck is an outstanding feature. My husband and I love the gorgeous decor, awesome structure and natural surroundings!

I think this house is beautiful. I am surprised to see such critical comments on something that puts an amazing roof over someones head, several soft beds to sleep in and a place that could create amazing memories with people in your life that you love. It's just the lenses you wear……
This house is stunning in every way. From the architecture to the decorative pillows, each detail is precisely placed perfectly. I love it!
I have never been more excited about a dream home before now….it's half way to my daughter's home in Florida….although I love these mountains ( WV) a view of the salt marshes and it's wild life are stunning and would be wonderful for beginning photography or painting. I will definitely take pictures and try my hand at painting once it is official and the keys are handed to me !
I really love the 2013 dream home. My only wish is that the winner will get enough cash to pay off the taxes so they can actually have a chance at living in the dream home. I think that if the large tax bill is paid for upfront, the average two income family would be able to afford to live in this wonderful home. I hope HGTV will structure the prize in the future to ensure that the winner can afford the large tax bill that comes with the property.

Love the 2013 Dream House! I have been registering every day. Would love to win this property. I am close by in North Carolina. I love the drapes in the great room and the master bedroom. Where can I get the fabric to make these drapes. However, won't need to make them if I am the lucky winner, will I.

I don't even need to see the inside of the house to want to live there. The relatively simple exterior in the middle of all those lush trees is more than enough temptation for me.
I can clearly see why this would be someone's dream house. Even from the outside, it looks like the perfect place to come home to and relax in after a long day.
I wonder how much it would cost to make our modest little suburban home look like that. Of course, we won't have a yard that expansive, but we'd at least like to have a stunning house to go home to everyday.
I simply love the design of the house, very simple yet so elegant. Very much suitable for those type of people who loves nature type of ambiance.
