The first night of Hanukkah is this Saturday, so you have just a couple of days to prepare for guests. If you’re scrambling to create the perfect dinner table setting, then look no further. Former Design Star contestant Britany Simon styled this haute table setting that keeps tradition alive, while bringing in a few contemporary touches to the mix.

Britany added a twist to the traditional blue and white colors with plenty of hanging paper lanterns and a no-sew table runner.

Layering your place setting gives the table a sophisticated look. Place a patterned plate on solid white or gray charger plates to give it that extra pop. Warm up the look with a gold napkin ring.

For a completely non-traditional menorah and a stunning centerpiece, use a manzanita branch. To do-it-yourself, spray paint the branch, and hot glue or screw scraps of wood to create a space for tea lights.

The do-it-yourself menorah is perfect.
An insult putting a Xmas tree on a Chanukah table!
Love the blue chevron plate!
Everything was beautiful. Why was it necessary to include a Christmas tree?
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday!
Using a white Christmas tree instead of a green one doesn't turn it into a Chanukah decoration! I agree that this was a tasteless addition (and to some an insulting one) to what could have been a beautiful Chanukah table.
