Whether you’re hosting a New Year’s party or just contributing to the spread, take a savory finger food that’s perfect for casual or dressier gatherings.

Chicken Yakitori:

Chicken Yakitori Recipe

4 chicken cutlets
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 Spanish onion
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 garlic glove, minced

If using wooden skewers, soak in water for 20 minutes. Slice chicken, peppers and onions into 1-by-1-inch cubes. In a shallow pan, combine chicken cubes with peppers, onions, soy sauce, oil, ginger, sugar and garlic. Refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours or longer. Weave marinated chicken, peppers and onions onto skewers.

Preheat the broiler. Place a rack in a shallow baking pan. Broil the skewers about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until chicken is tender. Can also be cooked on a grill outside. Serve on a bed of steamed rice.
