You’re probably still cleaning up tape and wrapping paper remnants off your floor, but the festivities aren’t over yet. There’s still one more party around the corner, and we’re here to make sure it goes off without a hitch. Whether you’re hosting a New Year’s party or just contributing to the spread, take a savory finger food that’s perfect for casual or dressier gatherings.

Chicken Yakitori:

Chicken Yakitori Recipe

4 chicken cutlets
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 Spanish onion
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 garlic glove, minced

If using wooden skewers, soak in water for 20 minutes. Slice chicken, peppers and onions into 1-by-1-inch cubes. In a shallow pan, combine chicken cubes with peppers, onions, soy sauce, oil, ginger, sugar and garlic. Refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours or longer. Weave marinated chicken, peppers and onions onto skewers.

Preheat the broiler. Place a rack in a shallow baking pan. Broil the skewers about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until chicken is tender. Can also be cooked on a grill outside. Serve on a bed of steamed rice.
