after i clean my house what ever time is left i sit with a trow blanket and watch hgtv and that,s how i get rid of the winter blues
I love to curl up with a soft blanket in a bright color. I get warm and cozy and a burst of spring color all in one. I also love to bring some color into the house with an inexpensive bunch of flowers from the grocery store.
I fight the winter blues by doing yard work and catching the rays from the winter sun. It does make a difference on how you feel but it also gets you a head start to the spring yard chores.
In Florida we don't have winter blues
I enjoy the cool air by opening all the windows in my home and letting the fresh breeze blow through, preferably while playing music and doing some winter cleaning. At the end of a cool winters day it's fun to have a bonfire with friends. So, bring on the cold weather!
I live in southern California so we have very mild winters but we had a cold spell a couple of weeks ago that rocked our little 70 degree world! I brought out the crock pot…my favorite tool to beat the winter time blues!
Winter blues ? Surround yourself with bright color !
I live in upstate NY…enough said about winter blues! My cure is to think of those people living in Alaska…22 hours of darkness for 3 months. Just that thought cures my winter blues immediately.
What gorgeous pillows!
I fight the winter blues by keeping the house warm. Fireplace is on, drinking hot chocolate, making some home cooked meals, and exercising with my hubby!

Winter Blues do set in if more than 3 days without sunshine in our house. I turn up the heat (able to layer down & ditch the lap blankets), add more bright colors to the den (where we spend most time) than I already did with odds/ends, pillows, etc., with brightly colored patterned sheets over the windows, then mix up and serve great summertime cocktails with fresh citrus. The dogs get festive as though we're having a party. What fun!
I fight my winter blues by celebrating my best accomplishments. I look back on past photos of the best memories, plan and start new paintings and artistic endevors, and I member all ofthe lives that I've touched by hopefully being an inspiring high school art teacher.
Roasting marshmallows by the fireplace while giving myself a sparkly french pedicure! My toenails are fabulous!
a cozy, over-sized sweater, a little dark chocolate melted in my afternoon coffee and playing in the yard, freezing cold or not, with my 2 year old son and our dog! turns the blues into bliss!
Having my grandkids over and spending lots of time playing in the snow! LOts of squeals of laughter ! Sipping on hot chocolate, topped with hugs Kisses chases all the winter blues away!
i fight the winter blues with natural colored drapery that allows for lots of sunlight and vitamin d!
I fight the blues by heading to the library and picking up a good read.
I create decorating ideas
I like to fight the winter blues with warm blankets! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
House plants and fresh flowers bring life to a home, even during the dead of winter. I try to have a plant or flowers in every room!
I stay warm & fight the blues by snuggling up with my husband and our dogs!
I love colors all year round and alot of vitamin d
To combat the winter blues I always bring in the big guns. Everyone gets the winter blues, so why not make the most of winter? I use this time to capitalize on my friends less than active winter social schedules and plan fancy dinner parties. Sometimes, it will be a theme night and other times it will just be for wine and mini finger foods. Either way, I make it an event. Winter is when I do my most and often times BEST entertaining.
To combat winter blues (it gets dark so early) I light my fragrant candles, flick the switch (gas fireplace) and my fireplace is glowing – cook a good comfort meal (chicken potpie) – later roast some marsh mellows over my gas stove and tune in to HGTV and BRAVO. This is cozy and entertaining for me.
To combat winter blues (it gets dark so early) I light my fragrant candles – flick the switch to turn on my fireplace (gas) – cook some comfort food (chicken potpie) – roast some marsh mellows on my gas stove – now my fire is glowing – I tune in on my flat screen to HGTV and BRAVO. I live between these two channels! Beats the blues every time. Smile
No blues in the winter for me. I love winter. I love winter clothes, winter holidays, and the comfort foods of winter.
Cozy up on the couch with a pretty blanket, a cup of hot tea and my laptop to look at inspiring photos of fabulous rooms to see how I can make my space better.
hot chocolate and coffee, warm blankets, tv
Drink lots of warm tea and get outside and embrace the winter sunshine and all its beauty!
I don't get the winter blues. I plan in late fall a list of my hobbies that I want to complete and I'm so busy inside I don't notice the weather outside!
No kidding here; I fight my seasonal affective disorder by watching marathons of HGTV, mostly "love it and list it" and "property brothers" and imagining what decorating and gardening I'm going to do when it gets warm enough… I keep an idea book and dream….
A cup of hot tea and a good book in front of a fire place!
Beautiful! Langley Plumber
I fight the winter blues baking cookies and cakes to share with friends and neighbors. The oven warms the kitchen; reading a good book and snuggling with my dogs on the couch.
I love to use candles to make the house smell nice. New house plamts for the green and natural feeling. Also, changing the colors of the blankets use to cuddle with.
Eating well, taking my Vitamin D, and getting time in front of the Happy Light.
I fight the winter blues by having bright colors in front of me. I crochet or knit in bright colors if I'm in front of the TV and I work in stained glass which is all about color.
