How do I fight the winter blues …. I'm not looking out the window today because it snowed and school was called off. One is I dream of our beach vacation. AND I get out out beach photo album and look through all the photos. Another distraction is to quilt happy, bright, loud fabrics together. Thanks
I'm fighting the winter blues by lightening up my living room from a black background area rug to a pretty light blue/gray area rug, replaced the darker valances with a pretty robin's egg blue color and bought two cream colored lamps to replace the darker ones. The room makes me happy now.

I live in Ohio, so I have to fight off winter blues every time our cold, snowy winters make their annual appearance. I fight 'em by looking through old beach vacation photos and getting a head start on my spring cleaning. Drinking ridiculous amounts of hot chocolate helps, too!

Too busy to have the blues unless the tile ordered is more than 50% broken, ouch, discovered after all the tile was carried into the house. No blues feel great about the Kitchen tile project we are finishing up now ready to grout. We plan projects in doors and out and room by room for Fall and Winter, that we don't want to be bogged down doing in the Spring cleaning/warmer months, like clean out the clutter, carpet, tile, paint and renovate while the house is closed down get it bright cheery and ready for Spring and Summer when we open up to enjoy the outdoor space and work in the yard more.
Love curling up on the couch with my hubby and dogs with a blanket and a good movie!
I cure the winter blues by opening up the shades on a sunny day and getting as much light into my apartment as possible! Gym and shopping also help too!

Well, there hasn't been much winter down here this year, but I fight the winter blues by keeping the house bright. And, a cup of cocoa, never hurts either.

Luckily since there happens to be many holidays during the winter blues I absolutely love to decorate according the particular holiday! It brings a cheerfulness and reminds me of my childhood home! In between holidays I love to have fragrence candles that I light in the later afternoon along with fresh flowers! And last but not least I pull out my warm whool throw along with my faux fur throw to physically warm up the winter blues:)
Living in the south means I don't deal with winter blues for more than a few weeks. But warm blankets, boots, and hot coffee are very helpful for when the blues hit!

I live in Louisiana and during the 'winter months', it can, on occasion, be a bit chilly. I fight the winter blues with my trusty Snuggle, thick socks and a hot cup of java!
I love to fight the winter blues by having a roaring fire in our fireplace and sitting in our comfy family room with my sheepskin blanket over me!
I fight the "winter blues" by lighting candles, boiling cinnamon sticks on the stove, baking, cooking with my crockpot, taking drives to see the snow, getting outside when the sun is out, opening the curtains and blinds every morning. Houston that is the word!!! Here never is cold for more then one week! Some times I think the winter here is very close to the winter I use to have back home in Brasil !! LOL where any 60f people start use their leather jackets!!! Anyway!! The secret to me always in a cold wheather is get cozy with some warm soup and a comfortable bleakand that way have no way to feel the blues!!!!

I try to keep the winter blues at bay by opening the blinds and curtains whenever I can, spending time outside when it's not too cold to bear & curling up in the front of the fireplace with a cozy throw and pillows when it is.

Fighting off the winter blues with some pre-spring cleaning. Going through some things and donating them to the needy. Possibly a new coat of paint- these pillows will perfectly match my new color scheme and I must have them…. Plus it will fulfill part of my pillow fetish I have acquired!!

The best part of winter is having time to get recharged for the next season. I leave all the drapes open all day to let in what little light there is during the short New England days.
