I moved into my new house in Sept–It's not new..built in 1950, just new to me. So I've started "ANEW" with everything. I'm leaving that past in the past and would love to have "Freebie Fridays" beautiful pillows as the center piece and color scheme for the "open floor plan" of my future!!:)

I fight the winter blues with a blazing fire in the fireplace, cooking up a really good hot meal including a good desert like Blackberry Cobler or a special hot Apple Pie for friends and family. Hot chocolate or freshly ground coffee beans brewing in the coffee pot fills the house with that wonderful aroma. If I have time I pick up a bouquet of fresh flowers which is always a cheerful touch. We sit around the fire enjoying each other with lots of laughter and good conversation. Fellowshipping with those we love turns a dreary gray day into a warm and wonderful day to remember. It's the good memories we create, that make a great life.

If you can't beat the cold …join the cold! My husband and I throw on our warmest exercise clothes and run! There is nothing more exhilarating than the first rush of cold air that hits your body. We're lucky in Austin to have many sunny winter days with temperatures in the 70s. On those days, I open the windows or try to sit or walk outside. For colder days and nights, I keep colorful Mexican ponchos thrown over the couch in the family room and TV room so I can put them on. When my cat curls up on my lap, I am warm and comfy.
