Update: Congratulations to our winner Christy, who says her spring DIY plans include painting the entry room walls and the front door. Come back on April 5 for another great giveaway!

We all have those DIY projects that don’t go quite according to plan: paint colors that looked so much greener on the chip, cut pieces of wood that are a quarter-inch too small for that coffee table, stencils gone awry. If you’ve ever wished you could press the reset button on your weekend task, this month’s giveaway is for you.

Vecco Studio offers a DIY alternative to expensive designer rugs: You choose from 13 colorants, various rug sizes and more than 150 stencils to create your own designs. The best part? If you don’t like the finished product, you can simply vacuum up the designs and start again. Take as many do-overs as you need, then spray on sealant to make your handiwork permanent.

Freebie Fridays - Vecco Rug Decorating Kit
Ready to design your own carpet or rug? We’re giving one lucky winner a $300 gift card to VeccoStudio.com, so you can choose the rug size, color sprays and design options that suit your home and decor.

Since I am moving into the apartment my fiance grew up in and it really hasn't been updated in 40 years ;) , I have a lot of projects on my list. Two of the most exciting are renovating the sun porch (painting the wood floors and ceilings, hanging sailcloth curtains on rods that run the length of the room, decorating with eclectic/vintage/refurbished furniture) and the bathroom (ripping down the old plaster walls, hanging new drop tiles for the ceiling, painting and adding wainscoting). I can't wait to get started in two months!

  24. Gary T says:

Aside from the usual Spring cleanup and gardening, we will be laying down new carpet in our home's basement. We could also really use new carpet in the living room to cover up the stains from drink spills, etc., but cannot afford it, so winning this custom-design rug would be fantastic. We are a creative family and this sounds fun.

  25. AnNa says:

This Spring I plan to sand and paint my French Provincial 12 Drawer Bedroom Dresser. It is a vintage piece, circa 1950's and is massive in size, yet it is an absolutely exquisite piece of furniture, with its dove tailing construction and ornate drawer pulls. It is a true heritage piece in addition to its ample storage that it provides. I will paint it silver with gold detailing which blends with the rest of my decor.

  31. Ming says:

What a swell idea! I was going to try painting two rugs as soon as the weather clears for my Spring DIY project! I have rugs in the attic that are begging to be painted. Or, you know…given away, part two of my spring diy project called TRYING to clean out the attic.

  33. sharon k. says:

i have a lot of painting projects to do, and need window treatments in several rooms. But I would love a funky new rug as the focal point for the family room, to replace the one that my dog chewed a hole in!

  34. Tina Gadd says:

What a great idea. Now you can finally customize carpet or a rug to match your interior exactly. A lot of colors to choose from means that you can't go wrong. Also, the fact that it is customized is something to show off to your friends. No one else in the neighborhood will have the same decor!

  35. Dan D. says:

Lamp shades, curtains, and anything involving lighting is on top of my list this Spring to make my home brighter and cheerier.

  36. Ryan says:

Hi, i work at a lighting company ( http://www.lampsone.com/ ) and you can see we have some pretty cool led lighting stuff that makes my home look really neat so the lighting part of my house looks amazing but that just makes the rest of the house look like a joke and when it comes to the decorating part i am completely lost! My walls are somewhat of a blueish color and i have a white floor. what type of furniture can you guys suggest? also what colors should i use? i kinda want like an edgy type of look…. thanks!

This would be so neat to win!! Thanks for the chance!!

  49. Have a room in the back of the house that was just used for storage. Changing into a Full Bath/Laundry Room/Closet/Mud Room. So excited! This would be a nice way to throw color into the room other than the walls. I want it unique and me!
