This week marked the beginning of spring and HGTV.com readers are ready for life outdoors.

For many of us, it doesn’t feel like spring outside. Even so, our new HGTVGardens website has had a flurry of activity, especially this gallery of ideas for turning an ordinary deck into a garden hideaway.

Many are dreaming of a backyard paradise for family and friends to gather. Readers are also looking for the perfect mix of outdoor furniture, hardscaping and plants to create showoff patio style.

I have a retaining wall running through my backyard. Keeping that in mind, how would I install one of these planters without it looking awkward?

If my back yard was to look like the one in picture, I would spend most of my time in the backyard as it looks really amazing.

We are ripping out the frugly front lawn and replacing it with an 'edible' yard. As if we don't have enough to do with the inside reno lol!!

Transforming your outside space can be as easy as adding some vibrant bright furniture. If you love colour but are no a great gardener then add a few bright pots with easy to maintain plants in. The great thing about pots is you can move them around too. Inject some colour with outside seating and tables that are fun, versatile and durable. When looking at garden furniture, consider usage, whether it will need treating and storing. Most of all have fun outside :O)

  7. Outdoor living spaces are a passion of mine, and no one creates them better than HGTV & DIY, your pictures and this website show that fact off nicely.
