Since I’m fresh from the uber-inspiring showrooms at High Point Furniture Market, I thought I’d bring you a taste of the up-and-coming colors I spotted there in lieu of your regularly-scheduled Tuesday Huesday (Just call today’s “Wednesday Huesday.”)

Unexpected pops of color were everywhere at this market, from painted bookcase backs to pops of green inside gold pendants. I saw plenty of Pantone’s color of the year, emerald, along with many bright orange accent pieces and purple furnishings. But the color combo I kept seeing again and again? A true blue (think: cobalt) with a bright spring green and a touch of gold, seen here (clockwise from top left) at the Taylor Burke Home, J Douglas and HGTV HOME showrooms.

What do you think of this on-trend color combination?

Perfect color combo. I have a lot of this in my apartment.

  2. I love it, but I'm biased because I use this color pallete in my living room. xo Kristin

Haha, Kristin! I'm the same — add some turquoise and this is basically the color palette for my entire home.

Navy + gold + spring green = a timeless color combo. Really, does preppy ever go out of style?

I love this colour combo. It's very versatile and timeless.

BTW, has anyone heard about the Pantone 2014 "colour trend" of Purple? Personally I hope this is not what is upcoming. Purple is one of those "Like it, or Hate it" colours and is very hard to work into a room, to keep it timeless yet classic. imho
    What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure what Pantone has planned, but there were pockets of purple at High Point Market this spring. It definitely can be a "love or hate" color, but I like how it can go from feminine to masculine with the right accessories.

Thank you for your response Liz. Interesting to note that it's sporadically appearing out here in Northern California as well. Ill be following to see how you develop this colour!
