Last week, the HGTV.com, HGTVRemodels.com and DIYNetwork.com crews headed to New Orleans for The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS). Put a bunch of industry nerds around beautiful new kitchen and bath products and, well, we gawk. As someone with contractor-grade bathrooms in a rental, I was swooning over the newest bathroom trends. Just the thought of a rain shower head makes me giddy.

From smart technology to chic new hardware, check out my favorite bath discoveries at this year’s KBIS.

Ann Sacks. Just … Ann Sacks.

Ann Sacks Design at KBIS 2013Ann Sacks Tile & Stone

The Ann Sacks Scribe Collection featuring the etched herringbone tile backsplash was like walking into my dream bathroom. The backsplash was then paired with a black Italian marble vanity and flooring for a classic, glamorous look that was irresistible in person.

The Ann Sacks Chinois by Robert Kuo Collection feels soft and traditional, but the glazed tiles actually feature lines and patterns inspired by the Song and Tang dynasties.

If you’re seeking crisp lines and geometry, the ASC Modern Collection is for you. Circles, diamonds and squares all encompass these glazed tiles that feel balanced and simple.

Freestanding Bathtubs With Unique Feet

Some manufacturers are determined to keep certain bathroom features around for the long haul, like classic tub feet. They’ve certainly been updated and given a modern spin but still feel age-old.

Stylish Faucets With Advanced Technology

Renowned fashion designer Jason Wu is collaborating with Brizo on a co-branded lavatory suite. The fixtures are sleek and fashion-forward. The single-handle electronic vessel (left) comes in stylish matte finishes and features hands-free technology. Jason Wu’s collection showcases a movement in minimalist fixtures with innovative technology.

Leather Vanities? Yup.

Gator Millworks Vanity at KBIS 2013Gator Millworks

The folks behind Gator Millworks are taking vanities to a whole new level. When I laid eyes on this leather-clad beauty in their showroom, I knew I had fallen in love. You can customize the leather’s color, from tangerine (pictured) to ebony to celadon to snow. The stainless steel wrap countertop makes it for me, but you can customize that, too. Talk about bathroom luxury.

Showers and Tubs That Spoil You

Kohler Bathtub Technology at KBIS 2013Kohler

I spent quite a bit of showroom time hopping in and out of (unfilled) bathtubs. One that I struggled to leave was the Kohler VibrAcoustic Hydrotherapy bath. How does it work, you ask? VibrAcoustic transducers broadcast sound waves through the water to relax and calm the body. Unlike jets, the transducers don’t interrupt the surface of the water, since they’re found below the bathtub’s shell. You can choose from pre-selected compositions or plug up your own device to play music of your own. Would you ever leave?!

Moen ioDigital Technology at KBIS 2013Moen

If you really want to spoil yourself, Moen allows ioDIGITAL technology to do just that. ioDIGITAL puts you in control of the precise temperature you want, water pressure and allows for custom presets. With a remote option, you can start up your morning shower right from bed.

Moen ioDigital Faucet at KBIS 2013Moen

Moen’s ioDIGITAL is used for tubs and sinks, too. It’s the ultimate blend of innovative technology and luxurious living.

Toto Shower Technology at KBIS 2013TOTO

TOTO has taken a green approach to many of their products. At KBIS, TOTO showcased their high-efficiency showers that provide 30 percent water savings without sacrificing performance. Most shower heads operate on 2.5 GPM (gallons per minute), while efficient TOTO models use only 1.75 GPM, saving a noticeable amount of money on water bills.

We’ve been to several industry shows so far this year. Check out our finds:
