According to Yahoo! Web Trend Expert Carolyn Clark, the searches for hammocks are spiking this month. I’m not surprised one bit. It’s the beginning of June, many schools across the country have locked their doors, and summer vacation is on the brain. I mean, all I can think about some days is how badly I’d like to swing back in forth beneath a shady tree with my current read. Are you just as entranced as I am with these outdoor lounges?

  1. Hammocks are an integral part of life in the tropics. As you enjoy during your summer months they provide a space where you can, where you have to, relax and enjoy the moment. It doesn't hurt that they are usually located in the prettiest spot in the yard. I love the wooden slat hammock!

Wow, the wooden lounge in the second to last photo is beautiful! I wonder if something like that would be comfy or more just for show? Great idea either way. Do you know where this was taken? Thanks for sharing, Kayla!

Stretching out alone and reading a good book in an outdoor hammock or porch swing can be an extremely peaceful experience. Taking some time to relax with nature, watching the clouds roll by, hearing the birds sing and feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, is sure to lower your blood pressure and level of stress.
