Father’s Day is around the corner — have you found the perfect gift yet? If your dad is more into tablets, apps and surround sound than golfing and fishing, this Freebie Friday giveaway might be the perfect present. One lucky winner will take home this high-tech toaster from Magimix.

Freebie Fridays - Magimix Vision Toaster

This is sure to be a showpiece in your dad’s high-tech kitchen. Already got Dad’s Day covered? It would be an equally cool gift for a new college grad’s first apartment, or a gift to yourself for being savvy enough to check out Design Happens’ monthly giveaway. The choice is yours!

My dad passed away in January, and this year will be the first Father's Day we will celebrate without him. We believe we can still celebrate with him in spirit. My father was a practical man who lived simply, so I loved giving him practical and/or meaningful gifts. One year, I commissioned a painter to paint a picture of my childhood home from a photograph. My dad loved it so much that he couldn't stop talking about it. Last summer we celebrated 50 years in that house where my 7 brothers and sisters and I grew up, and where we still gather for celebrations. The picture hangs in the dining room, a reminder of our history and of the smile on dad's face, the dear face of a man who appreciated the small things.

The best Father's day gift I have ever given was a fishing trip for my husband. When we were in Florida visiting friends, I planned a surprise trip for my husband. We had a blast.

The best gift Father's day I have ever given was my Father's last Father's day together before he passed from Esophageal Cancer, I had been driving up each day to care for him and had told him my twos sons and I would be back the next day to go to breakfast and hang out for as long as he was up to. The chemo was wearing him down. He had no clue I was really bringing my sister's four children as a surprise. I think it did bot our hearts good to fill his home and that restaurant full of joyful noise for that hour plus. He brought that up many times those next few months. It is surprising how the little things can mean so much to us, but they really do. Time with those we love is more valuable than any expensive gift.

The best father's day present I have ever given, would be when I gave my dad a restored '55 Chevy

The best Father's Day gift I ever gave? I gathered all of the family photos I could find… both my own and relatives… and had them professionally scanned in chronological order. I then had them loaded on a digital photo frame. My FIL loved watching random photos from all those years, and all those people and places he loves, pop up all day long.

A long time ago we bought Dad some scratch off lotto tickets and one ticket was a big winner. He bought some fancy fishing equipment with his winnings which gave him enjoyment for years. (and some great meals)

Gift card to the dollar store. He says it should be called the ten dollar store. You go in to spend one dollar & come out having spent at least ten.

The best gift I ever gave was a beautiful hammock with a wooden frame. It gets used and enjoyed almost daily.
