Last Wednesday, I spent all day moving everything I own into my new apartment. Although I loathe moving (my muscles still ache), there’s an air of excitement that comes with knowing you have a fresh, barren space to decorate however you please. As I looked around the blank walls in my new room, I decided I was definitely going to need some new artwork to spice things up. My inner MacGyver knew that with a little Pinterest research and a lot of patience, I could make my own wall art and save some serious moolah. Take a look at my favorite finds:

DIY Ombré Wall Art
I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely still a fan of the ombré trend when it’s done this beautifully. This quirky sign would make a bold statement on an otherwise boring wall, and Sarah of Sarah Hearts says it only took 15 minutes to make.

DIY Gold Leaf Monogram
This DIY Gold Leaf Monogram is perfect because it’s just enough bling – it’s not overwhelmingly gaudy but it has enough pizzazz to make an impact. Check out Brittany’s quick and easy tutorial.

DIY Framed Scarves
When it comes spring cleaning time, there are always one or two scarves that I can’t bear to see go. Those are the same scarves that end up crammed in the back of my closet and never worn. That’s why I think Honey Sweet Home’s idea to frame old scarves is pure genius. If you have a couple of scarves that you can’t let go of just yet, consider displaying them on your wall instead of wasting precious closet space.

DIY Chevron Wall Art

I love this idea because all you need to create this masterpiece is a canvas, paint and tape. The finished product is colorful and trendy – and in my opinion, it looks far from homemade.

Wooden Wall Art

This ‘You Are Loved’ sign is simple, but it makes a bold visual impact. Head on over to Corner House for all the DIY details.

What do you think? Which DIY wall art idea should I try for my new room?

If there's anythign that makes a new home feel like yours when you're done moving in, it's putting some DIY artwork up on the walls! It's a perfect way to make your home feel that much more unique!

    Hi ,

It's a wall decal shop. I am wondering if you are willing to help me to promot my business. Would you mind me adding a link and an image on your blog? I would like to compensate for it. Please let me know if you are willing to accept. Thank you.

    Best regards,

I agree that moving is greatly loathed especially if you are downsizing which means you need to get rid of so many things that would not fit at the new place. Nevertheless, there is always the rainbow after the rain and in this situation, it is having a completely blank canvas to work on and create an entirely new theme for the new home. It is an exhausting yet really satisfying experience I must say.
